Lego's Bionicle universe debuts on the Nintendo GameCube with a 3D combat-platformer that gives fans a chance to bring the hurt with their favorite Bionicle characters. Trouble is brewing in the Bionicle universe as dark forces controlled by the evil spirit Makuta threaten the island of Mata Nui. From every corner of the island, six powerful heroes rise up and unite to protect the island and thwart Makuta's evil designs.

Bottom Line

Though Bionicle is heavy on harcore lingo that's hard to understand for gamers new to the popular franchise, the simple gameplay is easy for anyone to pick up. All in all, Bionicle may not be the best 3D action-platformer on the market--and it's surprisingly short--but it should prove to be a fun diversion for Bionicle fans.

In einer Zeit vor unserer Zeit und einer Welt, von der man nur geträumt hat, legte sich ein Schatten über die Insel, und es wurden sechs Helden auserwählt, die größte Herausforderung anzutreten, die es je gab. Mithilfe der unglaublichen Elementarkräfte der Toa liegt es am Spieler, Makuta zu besiegen und Mata Nui zurück ins Licht zu führen.

In einem epischen Action-Adventure, in dem das Gute gegen das Böse kämpft, lebt der Spieler die BIONICLE’-Legende und muss die verschiedensten Kämpfe bestreiten, Gegenstände finden, Rätsel lösen und Gegenden erforschen. In der Rolle eines Toa, Toa Nuva und schließlich des siebten Toas, muss der Spieler die sechs Regionen Mata Nuis erkunden, in denen sich alles um die Elementarkräfte dreht - ein Tropenparadies mit hohen Bergen, riesigen Seen und mächtigen Vulkanen - und die auf der Insel verstreuten Matoran retten sowie den Fluch der Dunkelheit brechen, den der böse Makuta auf die Insel gelegt hat.

Dabei trifft der Spieler auf Gefahren, die von den vielen natürlichen Hindernissen der Insel ausgehen (einschließlich herabfallende Felsstücke, Winde des Regenwalds, Eiszapfen und Lavaströme) sowie Makutas üble Kumpanen. Egal, ob man erfahrener Spieler oder Anfänger ist, die Zeit ist gekommen, die Maske fallen zu lassen. Das Schicksal Mata Nuis liegt nun ganz allein in den Händen des Spielers …

Live out the BIONICLE’ legend in an action adventure epic of good versus evil, with combat, collection, puzzle-solving and exploration.

Playing as the Toa, Toa Nuva and finally the 7th Toa, you must explore the six elementally-themed regions of Mata Nui - a tropical paradise of high mountains, great lakes and mighty volcanoes - rescue the scattered Matoran and break the spell of darkness sent by the evil Makuta.

In doing so you will face danger in equal measure from the island's many environmental hazards (including falling rocks, rainforest winds, icicles and lava falls) and the foul minions of Makuta.
