Ways to teach your creature the Magical ArtsContributed by Indra was here... Bronze Star Contributing Member (13183) on Dec 15, 2003.

There are many ways your creature can learn spells, this can be either be internally, meaning through your direct divine intervention and externally which means from the other gods and creatures. But in this section, we'll just cover the internal means which is the most important and easiest.

Note: Remember to attach the learning leash on the creature! Note: You have to wait awhile between spells when teaching your creature (wait period) or you'll fail to get your creature's attention and waste a spell.

When you cast the spell in front of the creature, and if the creature pays attention, the success will be represented by a light bulb symbol that will appear on the head of the creature followed by a percentage of the spell learned. A 100% will indicate that the creature can actually cast the spell, without failing. Here are the ways to teach your creature:

1. The most common practice is if you use a spell either by clicking on a temple or town centre or clicking on a bubble spell. This is the easiest and fastest way to teach your creature. A miracle dispenser is usually handy in this case, especially those that come up with fast bubble spells, but also for saving half-used spells. This is great for spells like forest, food, wood, etc. Practice use those spells in front of the creature (don't use up the spell) and put them on a miracle dispenser for a quick recharge.

2. The next is teaching your creature "gestures" which is quite different from #1. To do so you must create gesture movements of a spell in front of your creature. You can tell the difference from a standard creature spell and a gesture spell: the creature starts with a gesture for a gesture spell rather than the direct standard spell.

3. The most efficient way in teaching your creature is by using a bubble spell. Give the creature a bubble spell and according to the script, the creature will cast it and learn it in the process. But the key is, the creature actually learns a percentage of the spell by just holding it. So after the percentage symbol comes up, immediately command the creature to drop bubble spell by clicking on the ground (remember the teaching leash must be on). Repeat this process as many times as possible. In some instances, your creature may actually cast the spell immediately, so a bit of luck and patience is called for.

Enjoy.
