BloodNet

If you are a fan of cyberpunk games, you don’t get frustrated quickly, and have lots of free time (the game is huge and if you get the feel of it, you will play on and on), this will be one of your all-time favorites. If you don’t qualify for any of the statements above, try it also, because this is not your average adventure game.

Overall, I feel that Bloodnet's strengths outweigh its weaknesses, but only just. Despite all my gripes about the control system, the fairly basic graphics and the old-fashioned combat system, I found the game quite engrossing. If you're patient, enthralled by science fiction and have been waiting for a good ol' RPG which doesn't smell even faintly of Tolkien, then give it a spin. There are plenty of surprises, lots of hi-tech gizmos, sparks of genuine wit and, best of all, not a single bloody dungeon.

Bloodnetin korppuversio ilmestyi jo alkuvuodesta, joten luulisi, että pelin omituisuuksia olisi ehditty välissä korjata. Turha luulo. Ongelmana ovat kammottavat äänet sekä järjetön esineiden käsittely. Uutena pulmana Talkie-CD -peli ei suostu tulostamaan puheita teksteinä, ja puherutiinit pätkivät testikoneessa puolet selityksistä pois.

BloodNet har några år på nacken, vilket märks alltför väl. Om Microprose haft något vett i skallen, hade de dragit tillbaka spelet och designat om det från början.
