Bofori is a detective themed game available online via web browser. It is based on a game show type television-series with the same name shown in Finland, aimed at children aged 7-12 years. The series is a follow-up to Operaatio Hurrikaani (Operation Hurricane) series with similar setting.

Bofori is the name of a metropolis, which is constantly threatened by a variety of crimes and the players' task is to solve these crimes. There are two rivaling factions trying to solve these crimes and players can join these factions as agents.

In the game the main screen displays the map of the metropolis, which is used to navigate from one place to another. From one place, usually the headquarters, the player will receive a task or a crime to solve. According to the clues the player has several places to start looking for more information about the crime, or people suspected being involved into it. Upon entering another destination they are presented with mini-games, which would give them more clues where to proceed or eventually try to solve the crime. The clues aren't necessarily that obvious or exclusive, but rather creating a variety of ways to solve the crime. Playing the game grants the player (experience) points, which can be used up to level your agent up.

While the series is running on television there are weekly crimes to solve, which are presented in the television show. Sometimes agents are brought from the game into the studio broadcasting as well. However the game and old crime tasks are playable at any time.
