Bomberman

Bomberman is a solid title for the NES. Although it doesn't have the multiplayer mode like its later incarnations, it still offers a good time for anyone looking for some one-player action. Now go out and blow up some shit! (in the game I mean).

Bomberman has a peculiar effect on players it's a game that trains you. As you're drawn into its simple and diverse gameplay, you'll find yourself gleefully blasting away, setting traps, and setting delayed multiple-row bomb blasts with the skills of a calculating superhuman mad genius. While not as advanced or socially oriented as the recent Bomberman releases, players will find the original Bomberman pleasantly and subversively enjoyable

Just get Bomberman 2. Up to 3 people can play it. Bomberman is kind of cool to have though since it is the first of a long series.

My advice is to spend a few extra bucks and get yourself one of the newer versions of Bomberman for the GBA. I know there are those among you that believe that I'm missing the point since this is supposed to be a classic port of the original NES game. Keep in mind that just because it's a classic doesn't mean that it can't suck.

In the end, the original Bomberman just wasn't a very good game back in 1987, and bringing it back unaltered as a “classic” doesn't change that simple fact. There are plenty of fun, multiplayer Bomberman titles available on just about every system currently available, so if you are absolutely dying to blow stuff up with friends, you'd do well to scrounge one of those up instead of slapping down any hard-earned money for this flawed game.
