BreakThru!'s controls are a snap to learn and the game's simplicity is what makes it so absorbing. Child Mode is great for beginners and one and two-player modes, including two-player cooperative gameplay, lend plenty of variety for puzzle fanatics. Pajitnov strikes again!

Basically, it's another Tetris variation, but different. Because the Game Boy is void of color, it's difficult to distinguish one square from another, which is important. You can only get rid of squares when one square is next to another of the same kind.

A lot like Tetris, but with more bells and whistles. The action and strategy quickly becomes familiar, then frustrating, and eventually tiresome. Good for a while, but isn't unique enough to have the staying power of a Tetris.

BreakThru is original enough on its own. The idea of the game is nice. Too bad I can't say the same for the graphics and sound. Oh, how annoying! Well, it IS the Game Boy. Sometimes, it's very difficult to make out the different tiles. Anyway, BreakThru won't disappoint puzzle fans.

Puzzle fiends who love a challenge will probably stay with this game. Casual players, however, will find their enjoyment decreasing as the eyestrain intensifies.
