DescriptionFull Steam Ahead is a 2D physics based puzzle game inspired by the pioneer years of steam propulsion in which you construct various sea vessels. Paddles, screws, sails, iron and wooden hulls are available choices. Leaving the drawing board, your ships must pass eight tests (speed, range, structural integrity, stability etc. with "sandbox" mode included) during real-time simulation (which also takes into account fuel consumption, wind, buoyancy, flooding etc.). Better score increases your budget.
The game promotes the actual museum ship ss Great Britain which is the part of the story told by the game, from its construction by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1845, through transatlantic maiden voyage to Australian service in late XIXc. Animated Brunel himself offers advice to the player. The visual and musical style matches the period. The simulation is presented as a shadow theatre.
