Description
Icarus is a short game that may draw inspiration from the classic Greek myth of Icarus, who fell into the sea when he got too close to the sun with his wings made out of wax. The game consists of a single environment with different platforms. At the start the player's character is thrown out of a house near the top of the environment and he lands all the way down. The winged creature is able to flap his wings in short bursts to reach higher platforms. After flying a while a circle appears around the character and it grows over time. While the basic environment is rather plain, the player gets too see an alternate version of the environment in the circle, with festive elements reminiscent of a theme park. The focus is entirely on exploration, but it is possible to collect three objects. When the character returns home, he is kicked out again. If the three objects are collected the same happens, but they also disappear. There is no end to the game as the cycle is repeated over and over.
