Oppression Quest

Moby ID: 68231

Description

Oppression Quest is a short, satirical, choose-your-own-adventure game. It is a parody of Depression Quest, and it satirizes its developer Zoe Quinn and the 2014 game journalism scandal involving her, known as "GamerGate".

The player takes on the role of "a young female game developer, with a crippling self victimization complex". In each paragraph, the player can choose how to proceed from one of the few options. Choosing the options to act responsibly and honestly results in the game stating that the protagonist is inherently unable to do that, and the option becoming unavailable; instead, the player is forced to take actions which mirror specific real-world incidents alleged to be perpetrated by Quinn.

A number of secret bonus screens are present, accessible by clicking on specific letters in certain paragraphs.
