Definitely more than the sum of its parts, but still...

The Good
When I downloaded this little table tennis adaption, I played it for hours and had fun with it. It was a little hard to get into, but getting into it was part of my addiction, I guess. Now I can easily win all three difficulty levels, and looking back I have quite a hard time to describe what actually made me play this game for so long, and still makes me play it from time to time.

Maybe it's remedy, as I mostly play quite difficult RPG's and Action/Strategy titles otherwise. Here I have one click to start the game, one click to choose the difficulty, one click on the "Serve" button, and I'm in.

Or maybe it's the simple, but somehow addictive gameplay: Moving my mouse to chase down the balls the computer player throws at me with increasing speed, and not only chasing down, but returning them with a perfect angle and score the points by myself. That's quite like Pong. Quick and simple fun.

And quick and simple fun is what browser games do best and should do. Period.

The Bad
Thinking about the bad points of this game, every single part of it lacks. The graphics are almost eye-hurting simple, the sound is almost non-existent. There are three difficulties that vary only in the error rate of the computer player. There's no tournament, no slice, no top spin or smash, no side change, no nothing.

Only a single set played till 21 in three difficulties.

The Bottom Line
This is one of those games which are somehow more than the sum of its parts, but with a sum of short above zero it's a low hanging fruit. So, if there's nothing else to play, then give it a try, but I'm sure you will find much better table tennis games out there after short research.
