What if ... If you have ever wondered what would have happened if you had tried harder at school, had more confidence when dating, been more daring in your social life, then Activision have a product with some possible answers for you. Called Alter Ego, it's a three disk adventure/role playing game which takes you through the seven stages of life by means of icon driven decision making sections.

Alter Ego ist das ungewöhnlichste Spiel, das 1986 erschienen ist; sofern man überhaupt noch Spiel dazu sagen darf. Ich würde es eher als Unterhaltungs-Software mit Tiefgang bezeichnen. Man sollte recht gute Englischkenntnisse für Alter Ego mitbringen. Obwohl keine Texteingaben per Tastatur nötig sind, sondern komplett mit dem Joystick gespielt wird, muß man doch die Kommentare und Beschreibungen des Programms gut verstehen, sonst kommen Witz und Inhalt mancher Situationen nicht korrekt beim Spieler an. Manche Leute, so auch Heinrich, meinen, daß Alter Ego auf Dauer langweilig wird, da bestimmte Situationen immer wieder auftauchen. Dies stimmt meiner Ansicht nach aber nur halb. Wer es darauf anlegt, jedesmal ein anderes Leben zu führen, wird immer mit neuen Situationen konfrontiert.
