This set of covers has "Released in 1987" in the comments. Is there any source for this claim? (Our screenshots section has some images from this version, but they don't contain the date.)

No source was given. Presumably the contributor took the year from a copyright for this particular version that is displayed on bootup or something, but not in the actual game. But that is speculation of course.

Yeah, most likely copyright year. I've often done the same thing. It's no guarantee, then again release info is often not readily available.

We do however, need a way the source of the release info also is viewable to the public. We could put it down in the release info comments, but that might look a tad weird.

Someone suggest this in the suggestion thread.

Can't read the exact date, but the receipt from my release date bought copy, US, shows 1985.. 1987 has to be incorrect. The Light operations manual for the simulator - Technical Order Number 2-F-86B-1 reads, 15 June 85: Change 5. I know this is not the exact release date, but gives you a concrete date for when it was out on the market. The Disk is Commodore 64 on one side and Atari on the other. Hope this helps and sorry the receipt was faded from age...

From that very sets scans, the copyright on the back of the box says 1985, and on the floppy it's 1984, so it's odd, yes.
