Although the graphics are nothing special, the game is none-the-less addictive. [...] there is a heck of a lot to do in this game, although going by its graphics, it is still pretty average looking, and the sound is nearly non-existant, but it's still a very playable game - take it from me.
A mish-mash of game ideas which doesn't come off. There's nothing about the early stages of the game that encourages you to reach that elusive space station.
But you've probably already got quite a few games on your shelves which are similar to this, and if you haven't, then it's possible because you can't stand the things anyway. It's reasonably entertaining, not particularly challenging, and at 10 quid is definitely over the top. Wait a few months and you'll find it in the bargain bins.
X-15 is certainly a playable enough little shoot-em up and is good fun while it lasts, but it's too easy to provide a long term challenge.
After reading the scenario on the inlay, I had high hopes. However, they were soon dashed after a couple of sessions. Although the program is very slick, with some great graphics and clever effects , the gameplay isn't very exciting. There is a challenge there, but the action is so repetitive it's hardly worth persevering with. If programmer John Van Ryzin had put a little more thought into the game design, X-15 Alpha Mission might have been good, but as it stands, there just isn't enough to warrant the £10 price tag.
Not too much of a strain to complete this one; best not to bother in the first place really.
