C-64 X-Out is a startling conversion, with first-rate sprites and backdrops, accurate music and effects and some well-mean baddies who make life VERY difficult for you. Apart from a pretty naff loader, X-Out is a fantastic game which blast fans will drools over.

ACE (Advanced Computer Entertainment)
The C64 is a machine made for scrolling shoot 'em ups (witness the likes of
Uridium, so why are C64 owners constantly disappointed by the unplayable efforts released by almost every softco under the sun? X-Out was amazing on the Amiga, full of original ideas perfectly executed. On 8-bit the ideas are still there, they work well, the graphics are very impressive and the sound is as good as you could expect - but the problem is, it plays like mud. Shame that.
