Capcom includes background information for each game, but other extras, such as tips, artwork, and music, need to be unlocked. I could only find one flaw with this excellent package: you can't adjust the number of continues. All of these games feature infinite continues, which waters down the challenge to a huge degree. Even when you don't want to use the continues, you'll often trigger one accidentally via the X button. Despite that oversight, this package is a no-brainer for any serious video game fan.

Lack of a Live Aware scoreboard, or any online capabilities in general, really hurts, but not enough to say that this compilation does not rock. I can't wait to see what Volume 2 will consist of.

All in all, this is a well assembled collection of great oldies. Street Fighter issues aside, the mere presence of just a handful of the other games is more than enough reason to purchase this title. And with a price tag of $19.99, there is really no reason to let this gem slip by.

For just under £20, this package is an absolute bargain and one that any gamer worth his or her salt should definitely have on their Christmas wish list.

For only $49.95 (even cheaper if you shop around no doubt) this is a bargain purchase that will have you hooked for days trying to unlock all the bonus content and reliving many fond memories. Five of these suckers have released within days of each other: Tecmo Classic Arcade, Midway Arcade Treasures 3, Namco Museum 50th Anniversary, Taito Legends and the purpose of this review: Capcom Classics Collection.

It didn't take long for me to remember why these oldies are still goodies. From Final Fight to Street Fighter there is a lot to play here, and it all comes at the low, low price of only 20 bucks. A fantastic collection that is a must for any old-school gamer. Ken rules.

If I had to recommend one collection for the average gamer to pick up, it would have to be the Capcom Classics Collection. While the Namco collection offers up a number of fantastic games, it simply doesn't have the quantity and quality offered up by the Capcom Collection. You want games? Capcom has them. You want extras? You're more than covered! You want a good price? This is the game to get. With near perfect emulation and an entertaining amalgamation of titles to offer, Capcom Classics Collection is easily the finest compilation on the market to date.

Having spent a good deal of the late 80s in an arcade, I have to admit that these recent releases of carefully packaged classics from Namco, Tecmo and Midway are something of a joy to this old-school gamer. It not only introduces these classics to a new generation of gamers but also gives those who experienced these games in the arcade a chance to return to the good old days of coin-op gaming without the loss of many a quarter. Now Capcom brings their collection of classics to the Xbox with Capcom Classics Collection and the lineup from the company that brought us Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Onimusha will blow you away.

Capcom could be credited as the inventor of the third-person shooter. Most of you probably don't remember how many shooters they made in the 80s. Each one searched for that magical place of perfection, creating some of the most memorable 2D experiences we'll ever have. Nearly two decades later they (and the other games included in this compilation) belong to an exclusive group: the group of retro games that are as good as we remember.

Overall, Capcom Classics Collection is a wonderful compilation that should appeal to retro fans, modern gamers, and cheapskates alike. You really can't argue with 22 games for 20 bucks, especially when the emulations are spot-on and the line-up is this deep.

This is as good as a nostalgia collection gets. Original games and their sequels, all faithfully recreated, and all for $20. The title includes the term "volume I," so it's at least implied that we'll see more of these collections in the future – and that's good news.

Like I said, I had more fun playing these games than I have had with video games in a long time. This game is definitely worth the 20 bucks it cost to pick it up. The only thing that could have made it better would be to make it Xbox Live compatable.

Capcom Classics Collection is a solid compilation pack that will be sure to make fans of Capcom’s past excited. With 22 games to chose from and a large variety of bonus content to unlock, there is something for almost everyone to enjoy in this package. While the game list is impressive it does lack some much loved classics and that comes as a bit of a let down. Hopefully Capcom will follow up this collection with a sequel that will include the missing classic games and more of their NES and SNES library.

Capcom Classics Collection brings back a great deal of memories for those that have been gaming for a few years and can give those that haven't a taste of what gaming was like years ago. Overall though this is another typical classics collection; some really great stuff, some “alright” games, and then a few you’ve never heard of and probably won’t even play. It’s up to you whether you think the handful of classics is worth the money. I certainly believe they are.

Still, it all adds up to 22 games, one of the largest game collections outside of the early-80s Intellivision and Atari sets. It's hard to criticize Capcom for anything here other than with personal selections not included, and the almost guaranteed follow-up will likely take care of that. There's little reason for any classic gaming fan not to own this. Actually, it should be a requirement.

Capcom Classics brings together twenty-two of the company's hit games from the mid-'80s through the early '90s. As with many compilations of this type, the selection of games in Capcom Classics range from A-List classics to C-List forgettables. Capcom's collection includes more hits than misses, though, and even the worst of the included games still manage to still be a least somewhat entertaining. Throw in some extra bonus material for good measure and what you're left with is one of the best collections of gaming nostalgia to date.

So, after about four or five years of wallowing in all manner of nostalgia we kind of got it out of our system. The thing that was most surprising about relentlessly playing all these old arcade games from the 80s and early 90s wasn't how much they'd aged or how rock hard they could be, but how much derivative me-too stuff was around even then.

Gute Spiele sind auch 10-20 Jahre nach ihrem Release nicht veraltet! Die Jungs von Capcom gingen auf die Wünsche der Käufer ein und brachten dieses Spielepaket auf den Markt. Für Fans der alten Spielewelt sicher ein Erlebnis, doch Fans der neueren Generation, die auf authentische Grafik und auch bizarren Sound Wert legen, werden damit keine Freude haben, da die meisten Spiele in diesem Pakte schon sehr veraltet sind. Of het nou de shooter 1943 is of de beat 'em up Final Fight, er is tot op de dag vandaag nog genoeg plezier te beleven aan deze games. Natuurlijk kunnen deze games technisch absoluut niet tippen aan hedendaagse games, maar dit speelt bij deze compilatie dan ook geen enkele rol. De games samen met de extra's die te unlocken zijn maken deze verzameling gewoon een must-have voor iedere gamer die affiniteit heeft met oudere games.

At the cheap price the game is selling at these days it is definitely worth picking up and it won’t be breaking any bank as you could pick it up for less than a tenner!

If you have fond memories of playing Capcom games in the late eighties, then you'll really appreciate the selection of games on offer in Capcom Classics Collection. The majority of games included are top quality and could be enjoyed by anyone, but rushing through the games with infinite continues is a rather shallow experience. Play them like a man, and treat credits like you would as a kid and you'll have a great time.

Finally, a worthwhile retro collection. The bods at Capcom have obviously been watching other firms churn out arcade/retro collections and come to the conclusion that none of them have done it right. This is in part due to the quality of games in the collections and the number. Take Midway's 'Arcade Treasures 3' for example. It includes eight games, of which I'd only want to play three for more than five minutes. Capcom Classics Collection includes 22 true arcade classis, and bar some slight problems, they're all pretty much arcade perfect.

You’d have to be a completely die-hard old school-head to really squeeze anything out of Capcom Classics Collection. Sure Street Fighter II is here, but if you’re a hardcore gamer, you probably already own at least one version of that. That means the number of actual, playable classics on this disc is reduced to just Final Fight, Forgotten Worlds, and Mercs. Do you really want to buy this disc just for those three?
