The title refers to the achievement of American rider John Kocinski in winning the World Superbike Championship on a Castrol Honda. His countryman Colin Edwards also won the title for the team in 2000 and 2002. On top of this success, in 1996, 1998 (both Aaron Slight) and 2001 (Edwards) the team had a rider finish 2nd overall in the series.
