Cave Story

How this game is in my hard-drive is beyond me, however after playing this game a while, it seems more like an RPG disguising itself as a platform game:

There are no points/score when killing monsters;

There is leveling up - but only to weapons. Maximum lvl 3 per weapon.

There is an inventory system (but you can't buy/sell anything)

There is an on-going story, meeting NPCs with dialogs similar to classic JRPGS

You can re-visit area's you've already conquered (most of them)

Basically, it looks like a classic anime JPRG only in platform perspective instead of the top-down standard.

PS. Was there an actual English release? My version says it was translated un-officially.

Not an official one, but an updated version of the game is coming to the Wii.

Wow I've played Atari 2600 games with sound a billion times better than that!
