Dragon's Lair II: TimeWarp

Precision timing and reactions are a must if you want to enter this Dragon's Lair. If you think you have what it takes to save Daphne, you'll enjoy testing your mettle with this interactive adventure.

Onwaarschijnlijk snelle interactieve tekenfilm met schitterende beelden. Ook hier bestuur je geen spelkarakter maar eerder het verloop van het verhaal. Overigens is de besturing sterk verbeterd t.o.v. het vorige deel.

The most important thing on a game of this type is accurate controls and the CD-i delivers. The game looks almost as good as it's arcade counterpart and plays just as well. I like the original as well as the sequel. The sequel, however, had long sequences that would start you from the beginning if you died. It's better as a home game since you don't waste money. Plenty of tapping fun and items await you.

Watching this game is a treat, playing it is a chore. After a few rounds of seemingly arbitrary death scenes, you might start to wish you had this on videotape.

Even the graphics are grainy, and the dialog hard to understand. One new "feature" is the fact that the scenes are randomly "mirrored" so half the time you'll have to push left instead of right, even though it's the same scene. Unfortunately, the scenes aren't randomized like the first CD-i Dragon's Lair, so your quest is always the same. What a disappointment. When you consider that this and Space Ace were the two lackluster follow-ups to Dragon's Lair, it's no wonder that laserdisc games faded away.
