Description
Chainsaw the Children features the muscular hockey mask dad from
Dad 'n Me with hand drawn graphics from artist
Dan Paladin who was also responsible for
Dad 'n Me.
The gameplay is a side-scrolling action game where the player uses the arrow keys to move left and right on the screen and use the "A" button to either swing the chainsaw or hold down the "A" button to hold out the chainsaw in a continuous motion. Additionally, the player can use the "Shift" key to sprint.
The main goal of the game is to chase down "children" in which this case is depicted by small purple flat-head creatures that the player uses the chainsaw to either decapitate or use the chainsaw to "juggle" them in the air. Also, the player can use the chainsaw to saw down palm trees throughout the stage to find gas cans that extend the player's time which is represented by a white skull on the upper right hand corner of the screen. Even though the game keeps count of kills, juggles and style points it does not keep track of them at the end of the game.
