Wowee, what a game, it this what the future holds? I was splitting laughing even before I loaded it - just read the manual. This is a taxing graphic jaunt with some very unusual touches that had me glued to my ST for hours on end. It even outshines Captain Blood - and that takes some doing.
Wow, what a weird plot and if that wasn’t surreal enough the wonderfully detailed graphics add even more to the superb atmosphere as do the creaking sound effects and simulated speech (and no, it isn’t Welsh!). Some of the characters encountered are truly bizarre – ever tried making love to a spider woman? The puzzles themselves are very cryptic indeed but there is much more to the game with underground caverns to explore and your girlfriend to rescue while you avoid being chopped up on the sacrificial altar! The icon system is extremely easy to use and an extra tactical element is introduced in using the useful psi powers. A brilliantly implemented science-fiction adventure with wide-ranging appeal.

Insgesamt also ein gelungenes Produkt!

Almost exactly the same as the ST version. Brilliant.

Another weird and wonderful product of Exxos Imagination. Excellent in every respect.
AmigaThe Games Machine (UK)
With all the great visuals of the ST original, the Amiga version has a slightly larger play area and subtly different colour palette. The same clever sound effects have been used and there's also a nicely composed Jean Michel Jarre-style title music, brimming with good instrument samples.
Atari STThe Games Machine (UK)
It's far from easy and lacks arcade sequences to lead you gently into the puzzles. Instead, it grabs you by the throat and puts a frown on your face as you try to complete the Ordeals and mini-tasks which are encountered in the temple's corridors. This won't find favour with out-and-out arcade fans, but most people should find themselves spending hours playing this novel and thought-provoking game.

DOSThe Games Machine (UK)
Other than Hercules Monochrome, only CGA graphics mode is supported. While purple and cyan suit some of the stranger biological creatures and everything is well drawn, EGA would have generated a much better playing atmosphere. Effects are percussive bleeps of acknowledgement. For both versions, though, the brain-straining, head-scratching puzzles have been reproduced wholly unscathed from the Atari, and that is certainly enough recommendation for purchase.
Atari STACE (Advanced Computer Entertainment)
This hardly stretches the ST, but nevertheless its construction and finish are very neat indeed. A good combination of problem solving and finely detailed artwork give the impression of a quality game.
Atari STThe One for ST Games
Kult is really a "love it or hate it" game - and I love it! There are a lot of really nice touches throughout, coupled with truly stylish graphics and sound effects. Mostly though, the whole thing generates more atmosphere than a Gazza romp at White Hart Lane. Dare to be different.
AmigaCU Amiga
Superb graphics and excellent sampled stereo sound help enhance Kult no end. What it does lack though is the particular atmosphere that needs to be generated by an RPG to give it that special something. On the positive Kult is a great, long lasting game, if just short of classic.
Atari STST Format
Kult is basically an adventure with little text. There are problems to solve using objects and people to interact with, but instead of having to guess particular phrases which solve a problem you a several options. Initially it's frustrating and you'll find yourself dying easily which can put you off, but perseverance, examining everything and some luck will get you past all the problems in the end. Once you've solved it you're unlikely to play again, but that first completion is going to take time.
AmigaAmiga Power
Another wacko French adventure thing. Big, atmospheric and certainly value for money, though it takes a lot of patience to persevere.
DOSPower Play
