Load screen. A counter indicates how long the load will take to complete. It is quite a long load
The start of game screen. There is no setup, no controller options to decide as this is a joystick only game, after this its straight into the game
There's a scrolling message 'Open Channel A sports car with one of the missing girls aboard is fleeing toward the suburbs. Get Moving. Over'
The start of the game. There is a countdown timer in the middle of the screen at the top, the bad guys must be stopped before this gets to zero
The central reservation has seats on it. I just ran over some without taking damage. The vertical bar on the right shows the distance between the chase car and the bad guys.
Even driving off-road does not cause any damage, come to think of it there's no damage meter on-screen. Of course it does slow down the chase car and make catching the bad guys harder.
One life over and the bad guys have not been caught, of course the game will continue!
Closing in on the bad guys. They are helpfully indicated by the big arrow. Cross hairs appear when a shot is possible.
When a villain has been sighted a status bar on the left indicates the damage caused. The player has until the countdown timer runs out to fill this column by shooting their car
If the car is not stopped before the timer runs out, another life is lost. Fortunately the game resumes in the same place with no loss of damage to the bad guys car.
The car has been stopped. The message reads 'Stop talkin' nonsense. I know nothing. It's Bob the boss. She isn't the one. You guys are lookin' for Bob.' Ooops - wrong car!
Another message. 'A station wagon has been spotted on the coast freeway with a girl aboard apparently the missing Joyce. Get on it immediately. High powered rocket launcher, 6 shots'

This time there are patches of something on the road, sand?, that can cause the car to skid
A cross hair has appeared but there's no big pointy arrow and no damage bar so this is not a car that's worth shooting at
The chopper should deliver the rocket launcher, but this opportunity was missed
Caught the wagon, now to do damage. The small round objects in front of the chase car are shots that missed and hit the road. Good job standard ammo is not limited
Second car caught. "Buddy you did it again. I ain't Bob. This little girl ain't the one either. I guess Bob is somewhere along the mountains you dummy.
Another chase. "Bob Black syndicate gang boss is in a limousine speeding towards the mountains, get him'
Here there are oil drums in the road...
.. and its possible to drive off the road and fall down the mountain. This does not cost a life but it wastes time
The helicopter appears to drop a big gun inside a tunnel...

The new weapon appears as the blue/red M6 to the left of the countdown timer
Rock piles in the tunnel slow the chase car down, but not the bad guy

Erm, wasn't this supposed to be Joyce? Looks like there's more work to be done.
When all three lives are over the player is returned to the start screen which is updated with the latest score.
