China: The Forbidden City

Overall, playing this game is a calm, languid, elegant, oriental pleasure. China casts a lovely spell that I was happy to fall under for a few hours. If you can find a copy, grab it. It could make you, like me, hungry for more Cryo titles.

C'est un ludo-culturel comme on dit, il faut donc faire la part des choses entre l'intérêt du jeu et l'intérêt de l'encyclopédie. Juste vous dire que le jeu vaut moins et que l'encyclopédie vaut un peu plus que 14. Mais il s'agit là d'un ensemble homogène et très bien présenté, donc on peut lui passer ses quelques défauts, bien que Cryo n'en soit pas à son coup d'essai !

The Adventure game in China is a good introduction to what Adventure games are like but it is very simple and one-way, and won't test the metal of hardened adventure game players. Still it does give a good impression of courtly Chinese etiquette and ritual - also known as bureaucracy. As you play you keep needing mandates from the Emperor to go to new places to pursue your investigation, and the conversations are stilted and stylised as they would have been at the time.

Viele Rätsel bestehen nur darin, in der chinesischen Palast-Bürokratie an die richtigen Einlaßpapiere und Stempel zu gelangen. Zuweilen finden Sie noch "Benutze-mit"-Denksportaufgaben. Auch die 360° -Steuerung gibt Anlaß zur Klage, können Sie doch nicht an alle sichtbaren Punkte gelangen. Gleiches gilt für den Schnelltransport der Karte. Zumindest erfahren Sie hier ein paar interessante Dinge über das chinesische Reich.
