User review spotlight: Carmageddon (DOS). Released in 1997.
Getting soundly trounced
Don't step on the bomb

The Prologue. This goes on for a while, slowly scrolling to set the scene. The writing changes colour on each section and white on yellow is really hard to read
Also in the Prologue is some 'key' information
The game starts here.
As Boone takes damage the heads deteriorate
First encounter. There's lots of this character around. Some have guns, others machine guns and what looks to be flame-throwers
Knocked him out, about to go through a gateway
This kick knocks the snake off-screen
Boone makes tough guy comments as he fights. The pretty light is in fact a bomb and he should be running....
Well - at least it takes us both down
A big fly and a floaty ball bomb thing
Boone lost a life to flamethrower man
This hole is a portal that Boone found accidentally while avoiding the big immortal fly. Once in the hole there's a brief picture of Boone falling then the next part of the game must be loaded
Entering the under-underworld. After the next part loads Boone continues to fall
Another of the Nightbreed. This one I think is the Fatman - poisonous to touch. He jumps on Boone like a giant toad. Boone cannot jump over him and must run away
Knocked down by flying teeth and from somewhere up above boulders are being dropped
Up the ladder and Boone must get past this beast to progress
