Codename: ICEMAN

Iceman is a good but not great game. I have read other reviews of this game that criticize its difficulty. No doubt, it is not an easy adventure. Not for the beginner. The games difficulty level is at least partly a result of the attention to detail and the lack of obvious clues as to what has to happen next and what different items are used for. The game sets it own pace and you have to be able to keep up. If you haven’t made the proper moves or discoveries by the time the game is ready to move on you may get stranded or killed. To some people these game characteristics would be considered strengths not weaknesses. If you have patience and love a tougher than average adventure, Codename: ICEMAN will be worth your time.

Satte fünf Disketten braucht der Geheimagent für seine Mission. Man kann sich denken, was einen erwartet, wenn man keine Hard-Disk hat: die gute, alte "Diskettenwechselorgie". Spielerisch ist alles beim alten geblieben. Nur ist der gute Agent etwas fußlahm; sobald eine Animation in seine Nähe kommt, wird er zur Schnecke.

Navy-Experte Johnny Westland liest's mit Schrecken: So wie's aussieht, darf er seinen schönen Urlaub abbrechen, um einmal mehr die Kohlen aus dem Feuer zu holen. Richtig: Schon ruft der General den gestählten Soldaten ins Pentagon. Er gibt ihm ein Paket mit Anweisungen, einen feuchten Händedruck, läßt ihn in ein Atom-U-Boot verfrachten und in Richtung Terroristen schippern. Der Auftrag: "Befreien Sie den Botschafter." Wenn's nur so einfach wäre...
