Centipede was named #19 in the “Top 25 Atari 2600” Games poll in Retro Gamer Magazine (Issue 46).

As can be expected with an Atari game, Centipede was ported to the Lynx, but never released. Perhaps they thought it had seen enough platforms already.

There were two Centipede posters that Atari. One of them had a blurry picture of a naked woman covered in green slithering out of some mushrooms! Too risky it was, so they dropped it and released the other.
