Allt är perfekt, helt perfekt. Detta är världens bästa rallyspel och något som ingen fullt frisk människa får missa, ingen.

Ok, i must admit, I have been playing this game for a long time now. When NLG got the review code, it was almost 3 months ago. I put this review up when the game was coming out in November. But now that the game actually shipped today, it was time to bring it out again for those that missed it.

Ok, i must admit, I have been playing this game for a long time now. Colin McRae Rally 3has been out on the Xbox for sometime now, and I have logged all KINDS of time on it. However, now it's out for the Playstation 2, and it is time to bring it up again for those that have missed the beauty.

The in-game sound effects are excellent, and do wonders for the game's atmosphere. That especially becomes apparent if you switch to cockpit view. The sounds of the engine and windshield wipers in combination with some great visuals and effective camera work (the view would shake as the car would hit bumps) create an atmosphere that is unrivaled in the racing genre. Simply awesome stuff. Finally, I should mention that winning races will allow you to unlock more cars, and more parts for your car that might be essential to victory in the later stages of the season. There are other nice treats in the single-player mode, like secrets and bonus videos. Of course, more competitive racing fans will relish in the prospect of playing multiplayer games against up to three opponents. Just make sure you have another game controller besides a keyboard hooked up to your PC. True rally enthusiasts shouldn't miss this game. As rally games go, this one takes the pole position in my book.

Colin McRae Rally 3 is easily the best rally simulation on the PC. However you can't help but wish that the arcade mode had remained and that you could choose to drive a different car in the championship mode. Still there has to be room for improvements for number 4 in the series and after all what's here is very good indeed.

All in all, Colin 3 is without a doubt a worthy successor to an already excellent series. There is no equal in terms of realistic rally racing. The control is perfect, the physics are perfect. The game is utterly addictive, and incredibly fun, and despite not packing the sheer technical merit of some other racers, the underlying gameplay tears most competitors to shreds, spits them out, and kicks them while they're down.

Has this game moved on from Colin McRae 2? Not substantially, but why mess with something that ain't broke, and this seems to be the philosophy of Codemasters who have just tweaked the championship mode and added some bonus features to give extra motivation for completing this game. Will it manage to beat WRC? It is going to take a hell of a lot to get near this game and Colin McRae is rapidly monopolising the rally genre. Keep up the good work Codemasters, remember folks, if this got any more addictive then they'd just have to throw away the key to my cell.

Pomimo pewnej liczby mankamentów gra posiada na prawdę wysoką grywalność. Szkoda tylko, że niektóre popełnione błędy wynikają z pewnych założeń, braku profesjonalizmu i fachowego podejścia do tematu. Przez to gracz ma wrażenie, że prace nad grą musiały być ukończone w szybkim tempie – zbyt gwałtownie. Całe szczęście, że program posiada inne, ważne i dopracowane szczegóły, którymi może się szczycić. Jedną z zalet jest polska lokalizacja gry, którą oceniam bardzo dobrze. Należy podkreślić, że nie było łatwo wpłynąć na firmę Codemasters aby ta zgodziła się na umieszczenie polskich sampli odgrywających kluczową rolę w nawigacji. Ale udało się – mamy polskiego pilota co daje grze dodatkowe punkty.

More jaggies than Xbox owners are used to, and flat 2D spectators also show up the game's multiformat origins, although the highly believable settings for the stages still somehow manage to outclass the much prettier Rallisport Challenge's panoramic ones. Some nice road and stone textures and time of day lighting effects are the non-car related visual highlights. A rather chunky looking 4 player split screen allows 4 at a time racing against the clock, or stages may be driven by multiple players taking turns, but CMR3 is best played solo, in a quiet room so you can hear Nicky Grist's vital pace notes. A good, pleasing sequel, but not the truly great game we were hoping for.

On the PlayStation (PSone) there were many, many, rally games, but one series stood out; the Colin McRae Rally series from Codemasters. Colin McRae Rally and Colin McRae Rally 2.0 led the genre, and their only real competition came from the V-Rally series. Now on the PlayStation 2 we also already have a load of rally games, but only V-Rally 3 as stood out as something worth playing. That is until now, as Colin McRae Rally 3 arrives on the PS2.

In a nutshell, Colin McRae Rally 3 will capture the hearts of many fans of the Colin series, while rally newcomers, will surely enjoy the game's challenges and realism. One of the most disappointing aspects of the game was the lack of a proper display of background textures, which the game obviously deserves. Also, the sliding syndrome may put off certain gamers, who haven't had the right chance to practice in previous Colin installments. Apart from that, you can be sure that CM3 has sufficient gameplay depth, making it truly worth your tough-earned buck.

Huge in Europe, rally racing hasn?t made a dent in the thick bodywork of NASCAR?s popularity in the United States, but Colin McRae Rally 3 is such a high-quality game that serious race fans simply have to take it for a spin.

The feel of the driving is what earned the McRae series its reputation, and the controls remain impeccable in this PS2 edition. When cars handle with such crisp responsiveness, you don?t have to be a rally fan in the slightest to appreciate why this is such an exciting ride. The graphics and sounds transition smoothly from the Xbox, which still has the overall edge in the looks department. But these PS2 visuals are still plenty impressive, particularly the awesome damage modeling, lighting, and particle effects. The audio continues to be a bit on the quiet side as the action is paced only by the whine of engines and your co-driver?s helpful but dry navigation advice.

Overall Colin McRae Rally 3 is a great title. The graphics are still a little bland compared to the more photo realistic style of Sony's WRC II Extreme, and there is the odd bit of slowdown, but apart from that this is a great title. Even without an official license this game gives the impression of real locations very well and with well over 50 stages to compete in this isn't a game you'll breeze through. Racing game fans should have a look at this very polished effort.

The Godfather of all rally games is back. While console gamers already have it for several months and are already dreaming of version 4, PC gamers are less fortunate and only recently got the chance to play version 3. It better be worth it.

Although the game's career mode is a little dry (compared to V-Rally 3) and the damage is forgiving, Colin McRae Rally 3 contains some stunning graphics and is a powerful, mesmerizing experience.

It essentially started with the arcade classic Sega Rally Championship, and since then publishers have tried their hands multiple times to deliver great rally games, despite anemic sales. The amazing thing is, almost every rally game has ended up being spectacular or just a lot of fun to play.

Colin McRea Rally 3 dojechał do mety z najlepszym czasem, prześcignął takie produkcje, jak Rally Trophy czy RallySport Challenge. Pomimo, iż najnowsze dziecko Codemasters miało parę poślizgów i niemiłych stłuczek, to zwycięstwo mu się należało. Wielu osobom będzie na pewno żal normalnego trybu multiplayer, myślę jednak, że ten brak został w wystarczający sposób zrekompensowany przez odpowiedni klimat i świetną otoczkę samych rajdów. Teraz wybaczcie, że was opuszczam, ale zakładam kask i wyjeżdżam na kolejną trasę. Wy także bierzcie w ręce klawiatury lub kierownice i wygrywajcie wyścigi na całym świecie!

All in all, perhaps I was premature in comparing Tony Hawk and skateboarding with Colin McRae and rally racing. The former always cranks out titles that everyone, novices and fans alike, can enjoy. It also consistently garners top marks in the 9s and 90s from critics. Rally 3 is not this title though. With what I’ve seen in Rally 3, it would appear the true fans, a small niche of the general gaming population, will truly appreciate it. But when it comes to sheer variety, an easier learning curve and exotic game modes, I’d pop in something else other than Rally 3.

Let's quietly forget that Colin McRae and Nicky Grist have actually had a tiff and their partnership has dissolved. Let's push under the rug of forgetfulness the fact that McRae now races for Citroen, and hasn't really made any significant progress in this year's WRC. Let's finally ignore the fact that 95 percent of American racing fans don't even know what WRC means (World Rally Championship). Instead, dip your toe into the warm bath that is rally racing. You don't crash into other cars. Hell, you don't even see other cars.

Colin McRae Rally 3 offers some of the most enjoyable and realistic rally racing on any platform to date--it's just a shame that the game's options are so limiting. Real rally competitions might not allow fields of cars to compete head-to-head with each other in an environment that allows contact between them, but as EA's Shox and Microsoft's Rallisport Challenge for the Xbox demonstrated last year, that's not necessarily reason enough to all but exclude the option from a video game. Colin McRae Rally is certainly one of the best rally games on the PS2 right now, but with its dearth of gameplay options, it's difficult not to wonder about the game's longevity--particularly if you're likely to be playing it alone rather than with friends.

Trzeba zacząć od jednego ze spornych wątków, a mianowicie od przypisaniu tej gry jej gatunku. Wydawać by się mogło – nic prostszego! Jednak nie jest to do końca łatwe. Większość zapewne zgodzi się, że z grubsza przypisujemy jej miano wyścigówki. Jednak fani rajdowi z krwi i kości jednomyślnie zaprzeczą! Oni nie lubią nazywać gier rajdowych wyścigówkami. Dla nich (no i dla mnie) wyścigówka to tak gra jak Need For Speed, Test Drive, itp., a Colin McRae Rally (cała seria) to gry zwane potocznie „rajdówkami”.

Les caisses sont bien modélisées, les circuits sont réussis, les sensations de pilotage sont excellentes, cela suffit à faire de ce Colin McRae un très bon jeu de rallye. Although not a perfect title Colin McRae Rally 3 does recreate the world of a Rally driver exceptionally well, overall the game is not as visually impressive as the Microsoft title Rallisport Challenge yet is a much more realistic driving experience.

Snifff, que c'est court ! On en veut plus tant le gameplay est plaisant et la conduite géniale dans ce Colin McRae Rally 3. Si le jeu est moins radicalement orienté arcade que son prédécesseur sur PC l'absence de rival solide dans la catégorie sur le support en fera un titre tout indiqué pour les amateurs du genre qui découvriront au passage une réalisation impressionnante.

The easy comparison on the Xbox for Colin McRae would be RalliSport Challenge. RalliSport was a more exciting game for me, but didn’t have the realism that Colin McRae Rally 3 has. So if you want faster action and a wider car selection go with RalliSport or if you would rather have less cars, but more realistic car physics and rally feel go with Colin. Both games are excellent in there own right. If you are a rally car fan by far you need to check out this RalliSport and this title.

Fancy a spin in a souped-up 2-cylinder motor that goes from 0-60 in under 5 seconds, in the wet? For incredible "pocket-rocket" thrills, and insane performance in real-world driving conditions, you'll want cars with all-time four-wheel drive, and the ability to swing around corners, leaving your Mustang friends wrapped neatly around a tree. Chances are, you'll also already know about the Subaru Impreza WRX, the Lancer Evolution, and the Ford Focus (the rally-spec one, naturally; not the embarrassing piece of plastic heavily advertised during American Idol).

Colin McRae Rally 3 is what all rally games aspire to be, it looks great, handles well and you'll be playing it for a while. It has enough depth to keep petrol-heads happy, but doesn't overcomplicate things for newcomers to the sport. The only downside to the game is that you need a top-end PC to get the best out of it. But if you have got a nice, shiny, new computer and you fancy your chances on the track, then this is the game for you.

Miał być hit. Dostajemy w miarę dobrą grę, która jednak nie umywa się do liderów gatunku. Jeśli ktoś uwielbia niszczenie samochodów rajdowych, z pewnością CMR3.0 okaże się lepszym wyborem niż TOCA. Co do tego nie wątpliwości - obydwie gry reprezentują podobny styl, przy czym Colin wypada przy ich porównaniu znacznie lepiej. Jazda jest całkiem przyjemna, ale osoby nie posiadające kierownicy mogą się zawieść. Proponuję wypróbowanie gry przed zakupem - jeżeli odpowiadać Wam będzie sterowanie padem, to OK. Możecie grać. Nowy Colin nie jest żadną rewolucją czy nawet rewelacją. Jest w miarę solidną grą o brzydkich trasach, ślicznych modelach samochodów i realistycznej rozgrywce. Trochę krótka, ograniczająca nas i w wielu miejscach niedopracowana. Nie na to czekaliście, ale oto jest. CMR3.0 trafił na sklepowe półki. Radujcie się, ale przed zrobieniem sobie z niego prezentu pod choinkę radziłbym się dobrze zastanowić.

Overall, CMR3 is still one of the best rally simulator for the PC on the market, especially for casual gamers, but I cannot give this game more than 75% Because if I gave this game 90%, then CMR2 should have gotten at least 120% :)

The game's great but if you're interested in any kind of online multiplayer experience you'll have to stick to TOCA. Annual updates in the EA mode, as great looking as they're guaranteed to be, need to be fully featured.

Un peu plus de deux ans après la sortie de l’excellent Colin McRae Rally 2 sur PC, Codemasters nous gratifie de la troisième version de ce jeu sur PC, un an après qu’il soit sorti sur X-Box et PS2. The fact that Codemaster's have failed to utilise some of the PC platform's major advantages is a shame, however, as we are once again reminded of Colin's shortcomings by the lack of multiplayer options. You'll get a four-player split-screen mode like on the consoles certainly, but any form of LAN or internet mode is sorely missed. Which leaves us PC gamers feeling more than a little short-changed even if the game is occasionally quite pretty, and the game play frequently satisfying - if unoriginal. Codemaster's must try harder with Colin McRae 4, which we hope will sit Colin back atop the genre.

It's fair to say that the original Xbox and PS2 release of CMR3 was greeted with a fair amount of disappointment from many of its more demanding fans. It's not that it was bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but previous versions set such a high standard that many people expected Codemasters to once again set the benchmark.
