DescriptionColor Cross Online is the follow-up to the original Color Cross based on the Picross concept. Just like the original game the basic gameplay offers grid based puzzles where players need to colour every cell based on maths. A grid varies in shape and size and has numbers next to horizontal rows and vertical columns. These tell the player how to colour it. For instance, if a row is nine cells long and it has '3-2' next to it, the player knows that row will have five cells of that colour, a line of three and a row of two, with at least one different cell in between. Puzzles usually have two colours or more, so by swapping a colour different numbers are shown. That way, using deduction, the entire puzzle can eventually be coloured in properly. There is a cross tool to mark cells that cannot contain the colour, helping to deduce what to colour next.
Next to general updates to the interface, it features 200 new puzzles based on the themes animals, discovery, household, leisure and patchwork, with further categories for each, based on those introduced in the earlier Facebook browser of the game also called Color Cross Online. The interface is however minimal with none of the social features of the browser version. The game is free-to-play, but also a small amount of puzzles are available. Further puzzles are unlocked by buying the premium kokos currency. The biggest difference with the previous title however is that all the social features are still available as players are able to connect in-game to Facebook to continue playing the Facebook version with their own profile. The Facebook connection is also required to access the daily puzzle.
