This game is worth much more than what you pay, because if you look at everything that has been put together in this game, you'll see how truly awesome it is. My point, and bottom line, is that just about anyone can enjoy this game. They may not sit down and play it for hours on end every day like a large number of war gamers will, but they still can watch the movies and play around with the units enough that they'll have fun. I heartily recommend this game to everyone.

'Yes Sir! I'm on it!'.

Well it's been a long time coming, so was it worth it? Tough call... Tiberian Sun is a very solid well rounded product with most of the features we expected. On the other hand I think deep down we were all hoping for a pant-shitting WOW type experience and that just didn't happen. So here's what it comes down to: If you are a die hard C&C or general RTS fan, don't miss this game - it's just too good. However if you are getting tired of the whole RTS thing and are looking for a fresh spark to rekindle the strategist in you then keep looking cause baby this ain't it.

Westwood Studios has a very good game in Tiberian Sun -- one that will be good for many an hour on rainy nights this winter, but it is not the masterwork that Red Alert was. Sometimes the price of being the best is increased expectations and increased demands for leadership and innovation. Such is the case with this latest installment in the venerable Command & Conquer line, and so it is that it comes up a bit short of once again knocking one out of the park. Overall, Tiberian Sun rates an 85 -- solid work, good effort, but a bit uninspired given the time they had to perfect it; perhaps it is time to retire this story and this world and start anew, try to surprise us with a whole new take on tanks and infantry and weapons of war -- lose the desire to make a game into a movie and to rest on one's laurels.

Technically excellent, but conceptually devoid. If you're a CnC fan or a newbie RTS player, this title is a must. If you got bored of Red Alert, you may not find much new about Tiberian Sun.

Westwood weiß einfach, was der Freizeitstratege will: fesselnde Atmosphäre, spannende Missionen, einen schnellen Einstieg und einige gut durchdachte Einheiten. All dies bietet Command & Conquer auf hohem Niveau.

Computer Gaming World (CGW)
Some doubts linger about the unit balance (Nod seems to have a considerable edge, with cloaked bases, deadly artillery, subterranean APCs, and three different long-range superweapons), but it doesn’t change the fact that the game is simply a lot of fun, There’s still nothing quite like distracting your foe with an armored assault while your engineer-laden APC sneaks in the back to take over his construction yard, or following up an ion-cannon strike with waves of napalm-hurling bombers. But alas, times have changed since C&C ruled the real-time strategy world, and for many fans of the genre today, there’s only one bottom-line question that needs answering. Is it as good as STARCRAFT? Frankly, no. Blizzard’s reigning RTS champ still edges out TIBERIAN SUN in both single and multiplayer modes. Sadly, the comforting cheeseburger familiarity that makes TIBERIAN SUN surprisingly fun is, in the end, the same thing that prevents it from graduating to sirloin steak.

Westwood has created a unique problem for themselves. They popularized the genre that so many other titles have seemed to take over. We were hoping that Tiberian Sun would help to reorient strategy games in a new direction. It's hard to judge a game in a vacuum (and noisy too), but it's also unfair to compare a game to the memory of past games or the anticipation of future ones. When it comes right down to it, Tiberian Sun delivers phenomenal gameplay within an exciting context and that's more than enough for me.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun has some cosmetic changes, but it looks, acts, and feels just like all the other Command & Conquer games. It's still fun, but those who expected to be "wowed" by the third installment of the series will be disappointed.

GameSpot
Although several expansion packs and the pseudo-sequel Red Alert have been published over the last four years, the Command & Conquer series has never yet surpassed or even matched the level of excellence with which it began. And so there's a lot at stake with Tiberian Sun, Westwood's third major release in the series, especially because it draws directly from the original game for its inspiration by returning once again to the conflict between the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod. But because Westwood has no intention of risking any more than necessary, Tiberian Sun predictably takes very few risks of its own, and feels and plays just like the original Command & Conquer.

Game Revolution
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is a perfectly acceptable follow up to an amazing game. It faithfully continues one of the most revered gaming series and should be just fine for all the starving RTS fans out there. That aside, C&C 2 is essentially C&C with a facelift and a few nips & tucks. Tiberian Sun is perhaps as good as Tiberian Dawn, but it definitely does not show four years of improvement. C&C 2 falls short, but it still deserves your attention. And don't worry - there are some more sequels planned. They just better not take another four bloody years...

Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
What’s necessary is to go into the game knowing exactly what it is you’re going to get — a nice continuation of the Command & Conquer line with a touch of flash and dazzle to it. If you can accept that, then you’ll most likely get a good portion of enjoyment out of Tiberian Sun. I certainly did. It’s not a fantastic offering by any means or an instant classic. It does, however, deliver a series of cool moments and the chance to revisit the GDI/NOD conflict that captivated our attentions so well four years ago. That should be more than enough endorsement for hardcore C&C fans. Anyone else should look at his or her needs first. You can’t go wrong picking up Tiberian Sun, as it should offer a healthy, pleasing dose of RTS goodness. Just don’t expect it to rock the boat, because — unlike its nefarious villain, Kane — this title does not have revolution on its agenda.

Gamer's Pulse
Tiberian Sun had incredible potential. But starting with the confusing NOD introduction, and moving on to the realization that there just isn't a whole lot of substance behind the shiny box, the game loses interest too soon. With previous C&C games, I couldn't wait to make the GDI or Allies pay for their boy-scout ethics of saving the world. With Tiberian Sun, I never felt compelled to save the world for the Brotherhood, or for the GDI. I kept playing the game, hoping I was just experiencing a slow start, but in the end, there wasn't anything that special about Tiberian Sun. While Kane may have been right in saying "It would be a sad error in judgment to mistake me for a corpse," Command and Conquer may have seen its last days of fame and glory. It will take a lot for Westwood to restore my faith in the franchise, and maybe making their next game a first-person shooter instead of RTS is a wise decision. Sadly, it seems Command and Conquer is no longer the king of real-time strategy.

Tiberian Sun is certainly not revolutionary and even as an evolutionary product it does little to distinguish itself. Though it has enough to be amusing for those new to RTS games, there are many better offerings (Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Age of Empires) out there. Lastly, congratulations to Westwoods marketing department, who will be responsible for the massive sales this game is sure to enjoy despite its lukewarm contents.
