Commanders Attack of the Genos ist ein leicht zugängliches, taktisch rundenbasiertes Strategiespiel.

Commanders: Attack of the Genos is no comparison to any modern strategy, it isn’t a comparison to many strategies within the last ten years even, but this game does surpass what 80% of Xbox live arcade currently holds by a long run, as it introduces originality, character & value, this is a rarity that needs to be looked up to. If you have 800 points to spare and you’re looking into Xbox live arcade, then this is a good place to start.
To be perfectly honest, there’s nothing really about Commanders: Attack of the Genos that reinvents the genre. In many ways, it plays exactly like some other games of this type on the market for other systems. Even so, there are times when a developer gets things all wrong and times when a developer gets everything just right. Commanders is the latter of these. From start to finish, it’s a fun experience and deserves to be drafted into most gamers’ Xbox LIVE Arcade library.
Xbox 360Game Vortex
Though Commanders: Attack of the Genos doesn't do anything new, it puts on a good enough show. Gameplay is fun and addictive, though it doesn't do much to grab anyone who isn't already a fan of the genre. At the same time, since it doesn't push many boundaries, even some hardcore fans will be turned off. Either way it is probably best to try the trial version before you buy. If you do decide to drop 800 points on the game, know that it is money well spent.

Commanders: Attack of the Genos is a very enjoyable turn-based strategy game. It lacks the overall depth and variety of units that recent Advance Wars titles have had, and could’ve used a bit more visual oomph, but it comes pretty damn close, and for ten bucks that’s about as much as you can expect.
Xbox 360Console Monster
Overall, Commanders : Attack of the Genos is a breath of fresh air for Xbox LIVE Arcade providing a fun turn based strategy game well worth your 800 MS points.
Xbox 360Thunderbolt Games
Commanders: Attack of the Genos really isn't a particularly innovative game for the genre, but for Live it's a sorely needed addition to the catalog. Everything feels crafted with care, and it's a fun and stylish strategy game. Really, if you're already a fan of strategy there's no reason no to pick this up, and if you're not already, Genos might change your mind.
Xbox 360Games Radar
Commanders: Attack of the Genos is a fun, supremely-playable game that can and will be enjoyed even by those who aren’t hardcore strategy fans.

The game is noticeably simpler to complete than Advance Wars, but the 3-dimensional aspect and often shadowed view offers more of an element of risk during play. Additionally the game offers an advanced campaign as well as skirmish maps to extend the life of the title. Multiplayer adds a sizeable amount of replay value to the title, assuming you can hop into a fair match. While the achievement structure doesn’t offer much to the casual gamer, there is certainly enough entertainment value without them. RTS enthusiasts should have no problem jumping into this title, but it is very simple for the beginner to pick up. Fans of the Advance Wars series or folks looking for a solid strategy game should shell out the 800 Marketplace points for this title.
Challenging and delightfully addictive, Commanders: Attack of the Genos is a genuinely enjoyable Xbox 360 game well worth downloading. Fans of the strategy gaming genre will find tactical challenges aplenty as both a single-player and multiplayer offering so there’s a lot to love about this title. Really, do yourself a favor, strategy gaming fans, and head over to the Xbox Live Arcade and download this likeable gem.
Xbox 360Gamers' Temple, The
If you're not a fan of strategy games, then there's nothing particularly different or compelling about the gameplay in Commanders to change your mind about the genre. For the rest of you, it does do a nice job of serving up some fun albeit straightforward strategy gameplay. While none of the levels will keep you locked in battle for hours, there's a good amount of gameplay here for your Microsoft Points. There are two campaigns, hot seat multiplayer play, 10 skirmish battles against AI opponents, and Xbox Live support for up to four players. Add in the unique setting and presentation and you get a nice little game for when you could use a quick strategy fix.
Xbox 360Game Over Online
All in all, Commanders is a fun ride on a small scale, if the turn-based strategy genre is your thing. It is also ideal for those who may be unsure if the genre suits them, and are “gun shy” about jumping right into something like Command & Conquer. Considering the amount of silly, engrossing fun the game delivers for a paltry ten dollars, Commanders can be recommended easily for any fledgling Douglas MacArthurs out there looking to dominate the battlefield.
Despite a mediocre story and familiar gameplay aspects, Commanders: Attack of the Genos isn't afraid of showing a goofy side of an enjoyable experience. At eight hundred points, it's more than a welcome addition to the Xbox Live Arcade.
Those looking for a simple turn-based strategy game could do a lot worse than Commanders: Attack of the Genos. The game is a fun distraction as a single player game and a good amount of fun when playing online. For casual gamers or those looking for some relaxed strategy gaming in between more intense affairs, Commanders is worth a look.
Xbox 360The Review Busters
Commanders: Attack of the Genos is a good game if you look at the price. If you go ahead and compare this to some of the other strategy games out in the market today then Commanders might come up short. Everything is here in the game, but there isn’t anything new in here. For only ten dollars though this shouldn’t be pasted up if you are looking for a good Xbox Live Arcade game.
Xbox 360Game Chronicles
Commander: Attack of the Genos is about as good as you can get for a game that costs ten dollars and comes as a download on your Xbox 360. There is plenty to do with the full single player campaign, a good ten standalone mission set and the multiplayer if you ever have some spare time and want to duke it out with a real person at a strategy turn based game. Sierra has done a great job of keeping the turn based game going at a good clip and reduced the waiting times as much as humanly possible. You could not ask for more in a game from Xbox Arcade than Commanders: Attack of the Genos.
Xbox 360Xbox World Australia (XWA)
For better or worse, Commanders: Attack of the Genos is a high-definition homage to Advance Wars, but at a bargain Arcade price rather than a full retail offering. If you've played this type of game before, there's absolutely nothing new here to tempt, besides the inclusion of Xbox Live support for multiplayer matches. But if you aren't over the Advance Wars formula yet - or you simply haven't experienced it - Commanders is a charming and thoroughly competent turn-based, light strategy offering that is well worth the 800 Microsoft Points price of admission.
Xbox 360Game Shark
Commanders: Attack of the Genos is a perfect way to get turn based strategy gaming onto the 360. It is easy enough for anyone to pick up and play, but has some of the strategy genre staples that will get people deeper into the hobby. If you just want to get online with some pals and blow #*&$ up and talk some smack to your friends then Genos fits the bill; I just wish the rest of you regular humans didn’t hate us super beings.
Xbox 360GamePro (US)
Slowly but surely the XBLA service is filling in the genre gaps that have plagued it since the service started. One such genre that heretofore has not received enough attention has been turn-based strategy games - but with Commanders: Attack of the Genos this problem has been reduced to a degree.
Besides campaign and multiplayer options, the game provides 10 stand-alone battles in which you face off against up to three AI opponents at once. The battles are a lot like the old battle maps in StarCraft where you aren’t playing the story, but are tasked with eradicating AI opponents to rule a particular map. Additionally, the campaign not only has an advanced (meaning harder) difficulty setting, but also two different endings, thus providing additional incentive to replay the story. For those looking to scratch a strategy itch, Commanders: Attack of the Genos! offers a satisfying experience for the reasonable price of $10.
Little matter. The game mechanics are still what you'd expect from this type of strategy game (meaning they work). It's only hampered by slow, slightly cumbersome controls, the occasional viewpoint problems of a 2D-game-in-a-3D-world environment, and some of the most sadistic Achievements seen in a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game. But Commanders more than makes up for it with a lengthy basic campaign that takes over a dozen hours to finish, an advance campaign, various battle maps for skirmishes against the A.I., and multiplayer support for up to four (though good luck finding players on Xbox Live who will stick it through to the end -- they tend to jump tank when things aren't going their way).
Xbox 360Gaming Nexus
Unfortunately Commanders: Attack of the Genos doesn't take any major chances or evolve the genre in any significant way, but it does what it sets out to do and gives you a great deal of action for a mere ten dollars.
Xbox 360Eurogamer.net (UK)
But while the game is otherwise an Advance Wars clone, somehow it's much less than its inspiration. Perhaps it's the fact the units' rock-paper-scissors relationships aren't so immediately obvious, or the weaker level design or the schizophrenic yet middle-of-the-roach aesthetics, but Commanders: Attack of the Genos lacks character, identity and personality. As a result it's impossible to recommend over its handheld rivals and difficult to even promote over XBLA's more competent and interesting Band of Bugs.
Xbox 360Totally Gaming Network
Multiplayer strategists are well catered for with a set of LIVE human vs human options to choose from. The major part of the game involves the single player campaign so it’s difficult to justify spending hours and hours on this against your friends when you could opt for something a little more in-depth like Command and Conquer 3. For short sharp bursts though CAOTG is quite a neat little strategic title let down by a succinct lack of depth and some naff presentation here and there.
Xbox 360Planet Xbox 360
Commanders: Attack Of The Genos fills a gap in the Live Arcade market, but you cannot help but feel as though it could have been done much better. Those in dire need for a turn-based strategy title on the 360 will have no choice but to fork over the 800 MS Points, but it is hardly worth half that.
