Als wenn das Spiel nicht schon komplex genug wäre, prahlt es auch noch mit einem inhumanen Schwierigkeitsgrad. Immer und immer wieder mußte ich von vorne beginnen, bis ich es endlich im Griff hatten - und das ganz ohne Konkurrenz. Egal, dieses Spiel gehört einfach in jede Sammlung. Wenn Sie zudem noch das Glück haben, ab und zu im Netz zu spielen, werden sie Constructor lieben und ihre Freunde hassen. Die Bedienung läßt einiges zu wünschen übrig, bei solch einem Spielspaß ignoriere ich das aber einfach.

There isn't enough space to jaw on about all the neat little touches, such as the good-enough-to-eat cartoon simplicity of the in-game graphics, or the inexhaustible supply of mini FMV sequences that endlessly spool into the top right corner of the screen, or the superb sound effects. There isn't even room to expand upon the barest of criticisms, such as the doggedly unintuitive interface or the somewhat ropey AI, but there is just enough time to say this: Constructor is perhaps the most quirky and original game we've seen this year, and if it didn't say System 3 on the box, you'd swear it had come from Bullfrog. Buy it.

Wie Sie sehen, ist Constructor keineswegs nur ein Aufbauspiel – hier ist wirklich ständig was los. Während bei Sim City selten mehrere Probleme gleichzeitig auftreten, muß ich meine Bautrupps, Mafiosi, Einbrecher und anderen Angestellten nonstop auf Trab halten. Weil die Grafik gar so putzig ist, bin ich oft versucht, den Jungs einfach nur beim Hämmern oder der Kaffeepause zuzuschauen – gefährlich, denn die Konkurrenz gönnt sich so einen Luxus nicht. Gelungen sind auch die wenigen Statistiken, in denen ich statt endloser Zahlenkolonnen klare Symbole finde. Lediglich die Suche nach dem richtigen Bautrupp treibt mich manchmal schier in den Wahnsinn, weil die Übersichtskarte denn doch arg spartanisch geraten ist.

Constructor kunde mycket väl ha blivit månadens spel, men i slutändan är det helt enkelt för överväldigande. Det kanske var så att speltestarna behärskade spelet så till den grad att ingen märkte hur svårt det hade blivit. Eller kanske System 3 så gärna ville bräcka andra spel i den här genren att man tog i lite väl bra, precis som Nike har gjort med sin affär. Ibland smakar mindre mer.

Om zelf eens wat lol te beleven door je tegenstanders te gaan pesten, heb je amper de tijd. Er er zijn nochtans mogelijkheden genoeg: zelf herrieschoppers sturen, hippies laten betogen, inbrekers, spoken, clows die met lucifers spelen en meer van dat fraais. Constructor biedt op dit vlak echt hilarische mogelijkheden, maar omdat je zoveel in de gaten te houden hebt, is de kans groot dat je al deze plezierige dingen zal moeten missen omdat je te druk bezig bent met het beheren van je imperium. Dit is dan ook het enige dat Constructor van een 90% score gehouden heeft.

Constructor is a building game in which the purpose is to build buildings, make cash, and complete a series of objectives. You have only 5 maps to play on, which is a major disadvantage. Constructor is very humorous and doesn't have a shred of seriousness, so if you dislike funny games this is not for you.

Hvis man er tilhænger af Sim Citys økonomiske del, og samtidig vil styre den enkelte (stakkels) borgers liv i byen, kan Constructor klart anbefales.

Real Estate has an effect on our everyday lives. Every building and every house is managed in some sort of capacity in our society every day. With the release of Constructor, Acclaim Entertainment hopes to give gamers the opportunity to manage and create that real estate environment. In Constructor, you take on the role of a real estate developer with your primary goal being to effectively manage not only your resources, but the people that are going to use those resources. Constructor will most likely be compared to the different Sim City-type games on the market because it has a similar concept, but that would be an unfair comparison. Constructor carves its own place in the sim world by combining strong gameplay elements with a rich universe.

Strategie-Fans mit Action-Allergie lassen die Constructor-Schachtel vorsichtshalber im Regel stehen: Der Sim-City 2000-, Thema Park- und Siedler 2-Kundenstamm wird entsetzt sein, wie rasch und häufig man von den Gegnern attackiert wird und wie frustrierend die Aufgabenstellungen der städtischen Obrigkeit sein können. Ab einer gewissen Größte ihr Ihr Imperium kaum noch überschau- und kontrollierbar; wenn dann erstmal an mehreren Ecken Flammen aus den Fenstern schlagen, können Sie einpacken.

Constructor is een ingewikkelde versie van Sim City maar met erg veel humor. Als je een echte freak bent en je hebt geen bezwaar om eerst een uur met je neus in de handleiding te zitten dan ga je deze game zeker waarderen.
