Crash Bandicoot is a fabulous GBA which is well worth anybody's money. The levels are full of variety, although some are very similar. If you've played any of the previous Crash Bandicoot games you'll be amazed at how well this plays on the GBA. You'll also be delighted to know that a sequel has been announced.
Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure is the kind of game that makes me glad I own a Game Boy Advance. It's short, but it's still longer than Mario Advance (and has more secrets to uncover). You may beat the last boss in a week or even a few days, but it'll take you much longer to collect every item, bust every crate and unlock every secret. Crash's replay value is exceptionally high, meaning that you'll still enjoy playing the game even after you've finished it. If the Crash Bandicoot series keeps going in this direction, it could very well turn out to be the Super Mario Bros. of the 21st century.
Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure is most certainly that. Despite packing a once CD-sized mascot into a tiny cartridge, this new Crash is fast, fun and absolutely worth owning. Multiple level types, fairly intelligent and lovingly rendered boss characters, and lots of hidden areas help flesh out this package even further. With a surprisingly high replay value and equally towering production values, this Bandicoot will burrow into your GameBoy Advance for quite some time.
Overall, except for a few minor flaws, there's very little to not like about Crash. I'll admit, that I've never been a big fan of the Crash games - but even I loved this game. In fact, it wasn't until I went back and played the PSX versions that I realized how true to the originals this version really is. Take a look at Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure - it's worth a spin.
There's no doubt that Universal Interactive gave Vicarious Visions a lengthy development cycle for Crash Bandicoot's first outing beyond a Sony game system -- the design on the Game Boy Advance is amazingly tight with solid controls and level design. And because the game offers different styles of gameplay throughout the adventure, The Big Adventure is a GBA game that doesn't get old quickly...and the inclusion of the Time Trial challenges and hidden gems makes the game even more challenging for players who are up to it. Crash Bandicoot's handheld debut is much recommended, and I can't wait to see what's next for this marsupial in future GBA installments...there's a lot more for this fuzzball to do on the portable.
The Huge Adventure features the sort of silly, but fun, story gamers have grown to expect from the series. Pint-sized mad scientist Dr. Neo Cortex has developed a "planetary minimizer" for reducing the earth to pea-size proportions. Crash's sister, Coco (the smart one of the family), has figured out how to defeat Cortex and Crash has to gather up hidden crystals and gems to power a machine that will reverse the effects of the shrink ray.

Vicarious Visions’ entanglement with Crash Bandicoot is the perfect marriage of game and developer. As if the polygonal character models in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 and 3 weren’t enough, Vicarious has once again pushed the GBA hardware to the limit and has completely blown the doors off of what we can expect from this handheld in the future. The technological achievements range from gigantic pre-rendered creatures with silky smooth animation, to incredibly fluid scrolling backdrops. To top it all off, Crash is a highly detailed polygonal model.

Overall, however, Vicarious Visions should be commended on such a strong showing. There's plenty to enjoy here, even if the game play is a bit tried. It's definitely a fantastic choice for Crash Bandicoot rookies, and shouldn't disappoint anyone looking to trounce Dr. Cortex and his flunkies yet another time.

Le jeu nous propose un scrolling horizontal 2D classique. Mais il possède beaucoup d’atouts qui lui sont propres. Tout d'abord, Crash Bandicoot XS est merveilleusement beau. On est loin des décors ternes et vides de Super Mario Advance, ou de la 2D sympathique mais très classique de Rayman Advance... Crash Bandicoot XS fourmille de détails particulièrement recherchés dans tous les niveaux, les couleurs sont très bien exploitées et le rendu sur la 32 bits portable est exceptionnel. Les phases de jeu à la troisième personne, en fausse 3D, ajoutent une touche de nouveauté et diversifient le challenge !
Les jeux de plate-forme commencent à se bousculer sur GBA sans pour autant se ressembler, et Crash n'aura pas grand mal à convaincre les amateurs du genre avec ses phases de jeu variées et son gameplay agréable. Un incontournable pour les inconditionnels de la plate-forme.
For good somewhat mindless fun Crash Bandicoot the Huge Adventure is the perfect game. Universal has successfully transformed Crash into a decent GBA environment. This game is worthy of purchase by all ages. The few flaws in this game’s graphics are no reason to stop you from either buying or renting this game. Enjoy this game and if you are successful the earth will return to normal again.

Should you persevere through all of that nonsense, you'll discover that Huge Adventure is quite good. The scenery consists of dense jungles, mysterious ruins, and even shipwrecks - what more could you want? With a few exceptions, the controls are finely tuned, and the new double jump is superior to the clumsy slide-jump used in old Crash games. The bongo-driven musical score sounds fantastic. Naturally, I do have a few reservations. For one thing, the stages are so familiar that the word "rehash" crossed my mind a few times (not that young kids will notice). Also, the snow and swimming stages, which held great novelty value in the original games, tend to bog down the action. Control in the snow stages sucks, and the swimming stages are just plain slow. Still, brimming with nostalgia and irresistibly fun, Crash Bandicoot's Huge Adventure is one worth undertaking.
Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure provides all of the excellent, and innovative multi-level, platform jumping, spinning, and sliding action you have come to expect--from an early '90s console game.
As Crash Bandicoot, you'll once again have to thwart the plans of Dr. Neo Cortex, who has used a weapon to shrink Earth. To reverse the effects, Crash's sidekick, Coco, needs large purple crystals that are located throughout most of the levels in the game. Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure isn't linear in the typical sense--at the beginning of the game, you'll have the option to select from one of five different levels, so you don't really have to play them in any particular order. When you've completed those first five levels, you'll encounter the first boss. Once its been dealt with, you'll be transported to a new set of five levels. This process repeats a few more times until you reach the final confrontation.
This game takes 4-6 hours to complete if you are a skilled gamer. But if you are a casual gamer, you may get bored and just quit all together. Crash comes equipped with more than enough save slots (four) and it even uses the link cable so you and your friends can trade save files. Overall, if you were a fan of the Playstation Crash Bandicoot Games, then this GBA rendition will blow your mind.
