Overall, CTR is an awesome title, one that should go down as one of the best kart racers of all time.

CTR is definitely a game to put on your Christmas list, but make sure someone is getting you that multi-tap too. It is the one of the best games in a fun and growing genre; if you get it for Christmas you'll still be playing it into Easter. As a die hard Mario Kart fan it pains me to admit that Crash is as good as my old friend Mario. Mario Kart will always rule my heart, it was my first true kart love, but Crash can rule my PlayStation.

Naughty Dog has announced that CTR will be their final Crash Bandicoot game, and thankfully they made it a very good one. By taking an already fun concept and making it better, they have made a game worth of Crash's last stand.

At first, I dismissed this game as a rip off from the aforementioned titles discussed throughout this review. While it does borrow heavily from Mario Kart/Diddy Kong Racing, CTR has enough originality in all aspects to be something different. Overall, there's little reason why anyone shouldn't invest in this game. Crash Team Racing delivers an abundance of charm, challenge, aesthetic appeal, and can be enjoyed by casual players new to the genre or seasoned racing fans alike.

Crash Team Racing’s controls are spot-on, allowing either D-Pad or analog control. Both work excellently. The button layout is sensible, the game map is fun to cruise around in, and the menus are easily understandable. The game is, quite simply, a very well put-together gem. It would be perfect, except for the fact that it is simply an amalgam of all the goodness from all the other kart racers ever made. It doesn’t put out anything original. But overlook that -- deep inside, CTR is the most addictive, most playable, and most fun kart racer available on any system. Get it now.

The replay value is the game's true shining point. Crash Team Racing features a great variety of tracks, a ton of characters, excellently designed courses, multiplayer mode via multi tap which runs at an excellent frame rate, and an adventure mode that will last a life time. Crash Team Racing is a title that will keep you going forever. It beats out every other battle game and every other kart racer out there. I don't care who you are, you need to stop reading this review and buy the damn game, NOW! Oh, and don't forget the multi tap.

I really enjoyed this game. It is one of the best PSX games out there. The deep and challenging gameplay will have you playing this game for weeks. You will definitely walk away feeling you got your money's worth. Kart racing may not appeal to everyone but I think that this game has the potential to turn non-fans into fans. I guess I have said enough so I will wrap it up like this; good game -- go buy it now.

Crash Team Racing jat schaamteloos van andere games maar ik moet je eerlijk zeggen dat me dat in dit geval niets kan schelen. Ondanks dat deze game ouwe koek is voor Nintendo bezitters, wordt het hoog tijd dat er ook op de PlayStation meer games uitkomen voor de jonge gamer.

So how does this game stack up to all of the other kart games out there? Quite nicely I must admit. The tracks are awe inspiring in their beauty and complexity, the gameplay is tight, and it is just plain fun. This is a game that almost anyone can enjoy by themselves or with some friends, a feat that many games don?t achieve. I would highly recommend this game to any Playstation owner, I may even have to go out and buy myself a multitap for this one. Playstation owners rejoice, we finally have a kart game that lives up to the N64 classics.

Crash Team Racing may not win any awards for innovation or originality, but when a game is as consistently fun as this its hard to mark it down for such [relatively minor] shortcomings. As a single-player game it delivers a variety of challenges and thrills, but it’s when you play this with a room of friends that it really starts to prove its worth, standing as a shining beacon of split-screen multiplayer gaming. CTR achieved the unthinkable in almost beating Nintendo’s portly plumber at his own game, and I can’t recommend it strongly enough.

La única conclusión a la que se puede llegar tras recordar este excelente título es que Naughty Dog no se podría haber despedido de una mejor manera de PSone. Crash Team Racing reúne lo mejor de la saga de arcade de velocidad por excelencia: Mario Kart para despuntarse como el mejor de su género en la gris de Sony. Uno de esos juegos, que no importa las edades, es indiferente si lo jugamos en PlayStation 2 o el número de jugadores que participen en sus retos. Crash, tanto de pie como subido a un Kart, sigue siendo la mejor mascota que haya tenido PlayStation.

Crash Team Racing n'innove pas particulièrement dans son domaine mais offre une réalisation et une qualité de jeu tout à fait similaires aux meilleurs du genre. Un très bon titre qui devrait faire beaucoup d'heureux.

But most folks have only a few choices come the winter the winter holidays. So, here's the bottom line, all cynicism aside. Like I said in the beginning, once you get past the insanely capitalistic smile of Crash, the game is rock solid in playability and graphics. Hell! It's a four-player kart game that's on the PlayStation. Isn't that enough? I mean, not only that, but none of the problems of the other kart games even exist in this one. So what's all the fuss about? If you want a pure party game -- and the best kart game on PlayStation or Nintendo, for that matter -- get Crash Team Racing.

Crash Team Racing may seem like just a Mario Kart clone. And, with the exception of an additional mode or two and the superior track design, it is. But it's a great Mario Kart clone, and it succeeds where the likes of Mega Man, Bomberman, Diddy Kong, the Chocobo, and even Mario himself have failed. CTR has the staying power to convert people who haven't ever liked a mascot racing game, and it will definitely please Mario Kart fans with its many tracks and options.

I was really ready to pass this game off as just another cheap rip-off, but it turns out that CTR is a solid kart racing game. Though it doesn't add much to the tired genre, it manages to do everything well. If you're a Playstation owner that's fed up of those other sorry Playstation kart games (Chocobo Racing, Bomberman Race), CTR is your answer.

Men trots det roliga upplägget finns det ett allvarligt problem. Crash Team Racing måste vara ett av TV-spelshistoriens värsta plagiat. Likheterna med Nintendos Mario Kart 64 och Rares Diddy Kong Racing är så uppenbara att det är pinsamt. Fast bortsett från aspekter som yrkesheder och stolthet förstår jag Sonys avsikt. PlayStation-ägarna gillar ju också racingspel och äventyr. Och för Sonys del måste det vara bättre att kopiera Nintendos spel så att PlayStation-ägarna kan spela dem på sina egna konsoler istället för att hyra eller köpa Nintendo 64. Frågan är bara om det är ett vidare smart sätt att marknadsföra PlayStation som varumärke. Indirekt är ju Crash Team Racing faktiskt ett argument för att spelarna ska satsa på Nintendo nästa gång de köper ny konsol.
