Description

Curiosity is an experimental game about chipping away blocks on a giant cube. The game consists of a large cube with an undisclosed amount of layers. Each side of the cube is covered with a large amount of blocks. The player can zoom in on any part and touch blocks to remove them. The game is played online and simultaneously with a large amount of players who do the same thing. Changes are visible to all players in real time. Once all blocks on all sides of a single layer have been removed, a next layer is revealed. Each layer holds a different set of images. The ultimate goal of the game is to remove the very last block of the final layer to reveal what is inside the cube. Only that player gets to see what is inside and can choose whether to share it with the world or not.

Players can rotate the cube and zoom in to access any part to continue removing blocks. Touching them makes them disappear and this is rewarded with coins. Additional coins are received for clearing everything visible on the screen and through multiplier bonuses. Removing blocks creates a soundscape and based on the speed and pattern text messages appear. Coins can be traded in at the shop for additional tools such as explosives, bombs, but also different types of chisels that have a wider reach. Next to some basic ones the game contains a single diamond chisel available for an in-app purchase of about $75,000 in real money. Of that tool only one is available worldwide and it said to be 100,000 times stronger than the default chisel. Players can also trade coins to view statistics about the project. It has ties to Facebook to invite friends and share progress.
