Meanwhile, the game has a clean interface with responsive touch controls, and the cartoon style graphics are bright and cheerful. We're especially fond of Om Nom's limited but smooth animation. Bottom line, Cut the Rope is one of the best games for Apple's iOS. Play it immediately.

Like many other puzzle games in this style, each level of Cut the Rope is scored using a three-star rating system. Whereas in some games this is simply a hindrance to progression, in Cut the Rope the rating system is implemented in such a way that I was really motivated to think through puzzles to figure out the best way to earn all three stars. This, combined with gorgeous art and a wonderfully realistic gravity-driven engine, makes Cut the Rope a fine iPhone/iPad release, and one that I wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if it does in fact become the next Angry Birds.

Cut the Rope is a charming, challenging, and-- most importantly-- fun puzzle game that nearly anyone will enjoy.

A jouer absolument.

Cut the Rope HD is available on both the iPhone and the iPad, but the larger screen offers a much more accessible interface with the increased playing area making it easier to cut strings and pop bubbles with far greater accuracy. Fun for the entire family, Cut the Rope HD is easily one of the best physics puzzle games I’ve played since Angry Birds. It not only relies on gravity and momentum but also requires thought and timing on the part of the gamer. Don’t miss out on what could be the cutest and most addicting puzzle game on the iPad this year.

A port of the popular iOS puzzler, Cut the Rope finally hits the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Although more expensive, this five dollar download still offers an incredible variety of levels with a great sense of style. Even without multitouch support or a high resolution screen, Cut the Rope manages to deliver the fun on the Nintendo 3DS!

A piece of hard candy hangs from a rope, and a hungry frog-like monster waits patiently below. You cut the rope with a slice of your finger, it falls into his mouth, and he smiles. But then new elements are introduced to hinder the task. Timing becomes of the utmost importance when the candy starts to swing, spiders close in, and bubbles threaten to lift the candy offscreen. There are blowers activated by touch, tight ropes that fling the candy across the screen, and spikes that you can only avoid by cutting multiple lengths of rope in the proper order. Even freakin’ gravity is an obstacle in Cut The Rope; you have to ensure the candy falls from a proper height. All the elements work together brilliantly. Later levels require subway-stop-missing concentration, yet after a little trial and error and head-scratching, it’s never unclear what has to happen, and in what order. It’s just a matter of cutting the rope, right?

Cut the Rope is a great little time killer. If you are on the bus or in a waiting room for example, you can have a quick go on this, complete a few puzzles and receive a great deal of pleasure in doing so. Although it can be a short game (depending on how good you are), it is definitely a cracker and quite addictive. With new levels coming out soon, the game will only get better and better. Get this game on your iPhone now!

All these elements come together to create an incredibly polished game that is addictive, fun and features just the right amount of learning curve before ramping up the challenge. But, it is the physics that is the real star of the show here, working invisibly in the background. It’s a testament to Zeptolab that this underlying physics engine allows all these elements to perform so realistically that you intuitively perform the actions required without question.

Cut the Rope deserves to be the next breakout hit for the iPhone. This has all the addictive qualities of Angry Birds – great puzzles, near-perfect use of touch controls, and cute personality. Chillingo promises that if Cut the Rope reaches some sort of critical mass, there will be even more stages. So, please – do your part. It is the best 99 cents you will spend this month.

Cut the Rope should be another huge hit for Chillingo. The simple premise is executed with clean, beautiful graphics, responsive multi-touch controls, awesome physics, and top-notch level design. Om Nom never ate so well.

Pitched perfectly for casual on-the-move play, it's the kind of game you can happily fill a couple of bored minutes with, or power through for a couple of hours, trying to snag every star. With 100 stages included for starters, and more on the way via updates, welcome to your new favourite waste of time.

Overall, Cut the Rope is wonderful on DSiWare. It earns a hearty recommendation from me for all Nintendo portable players – you should only skip this one if you've already played a prior version of it to completion. (And, even then, you might still want to give this new version a look.)

Fans of this game from other platforms will feel right at home, and with the addition of Xbox LIVE leaderboards and achievements, this version will entice you to purchase it again. The graphics are some of the best available on the Windows Phone platform at present. The gameplay is great, and it is perfectly suited for those small amounts of time you might get while waiting for a table at a restaurant, or during those boring meetings at work.

Cut the Rope is also straight-up adorable, with an expressive, cartoony art style. For example, as the candy gets close to the monster, he'll open his mouth and start salivating. When you fail a level, he'll get sad and begin crying.

Cut the Rope is a game that brilliantly takes a simple and unique concept, and layers complexity on top of it to make the game deep, without losing what makes it fun.

Cut the Rope is good value for your money, and a great addition to an ever growing stable of games perfectly suited to the platform. It's not perfect, and I'm not a fan of all the mechanics, but Cut the Rope is a great example of how a simple idea can sometimes be enough for a great game.

Nintendo DSiNintendo Life (Sep 27, 2011)
Cut the Rope is a charming, well produced physics puzzle game that is undoubtedly entertaining. It contains all of the content from the original smartphone release, though not all of the subsequent expansions, and provides an experience that is both simple and challenging. The pricing is reasonable on the scale of Nintendo downloads, though many will be aware that it’s possible to purchase this game for much less elsewhere. Some performance issues also have an impact, but overall this is an enjoyable title that should be on the radar of all puzzle gamers with a DSi.

Nintendo DSiOfficial Nintendo Magazine (Nov 08, 2011)
Cut The Rope is a brilliant puzzle game but at £4.50 it's also a rip-off. Especially since it's the same as the phone version. Of course, that means you're getting a highly addictive puzzle game in which you cut ropes with your stylus in order to make the piece of candy that's hanging from them drop into a monster's mouth. Quality gameplay, but, heartbreaking though it is, hard to recommend when you can get it far cheaper elsewhere.

Cut the Rope on Nintendo DSi is a poor conversion of a smartphone classic with a ridiculous price tag to boot.
