You take pleasure in beautiful graphics with fine textures and all in three dimensions? You also enjoy arcade games where you are in a superb space ship and you must destroy all sorts of wicked creatures while zig zaging more or less majestically in the air? But do you also enjoy adventure games where in order to stay in one piece one must have some flair? If you answered YES to these three questions, no need to search any longer, "CYBERIA" is what you need!

DOSPower Play

Cyberia is a great port-over and a finely tuned puzzler with an action twist. But you may find yourself wishing for more fighting and less finding in this brainy spy game.
PlayStationGamePro (US)
If you want shooting or adventure, stick to basics like Doom or Gex. In a tundra of genre-specific games, however, Cyberia comes in like a heat wave for the renaissance gamer who wants a little bit of everything.

Lots of arcade action and gut-grabbing graphics. Experienced gamers may be disappointed with this fancy shootin' gallery. Lots of flash and a few puzzlers, but like Chinese food, it may leave you hungry an hour later.

I used to love this game when I was younger. These days, I'm not so sure. For its time Cyberia had a pretty slick presentation, with nice 3D-rendered graphics and great CD-quality sound. Unfortunately, this is one of those titles that just didn't age well, as it has very awkward controls and never decides if it is an action/adventure game, or a rail shooter.
PlayStationGame Players
Someday, there will be a graphic adventure that lets you build and determine the storyline itself. Although Cyberia succeeds at creating what may well be the look and feel of that game, until the non-linear gameplay arrives, it is kinda lacking.
PlayStationVideo Games & Computer Entertainment
The interface is quite easy, using only a couple of buttons and not allowing you to stray too far from the direction you should be going: Cyberia pulls you along through the story, but you don't mind, because the ride is so enjoyable. If you're into games like D's Diner and Burn:Cycle, Cyberia will be a treat you won't want to miss.
PlayStationGameFan Magazine
Cyberia might have been a big PC hit, but compared to other console games, it's a little boring. To it's credit, Cyberia has terrific music, a long quest, cool motion captured SGI graphics and a good storyline. On the other hand, this game also has lame "action" shooting sequences, limited real-time interaction and uh...did I mention that it's boring? If you like the PC title of if you enjoy these types of games, knock yourself out. If you're a hardcore console gamer, you might want to look elsewhere.
There's no denying the appeal of great, prerendered graphics, but gameplay does tend to suffer in graphic adventures, which usually consists of doing things over and over until you do it right. But as it stands, Cyberia is a very enjoyable game.

There's also some really nice character animation, though I for one will be glad when a designer finally comes up with “synthetic actors” that look like people rather than puppets. But people will buy CYBERIA, if they buy it, not for the character stuff but for the flying sequences that its showpiece. And basically I see nothing wrong with this – heaven knows my pocket and my heart were both a good deal lighter when I left that Manhattan arcade more than a decade ago, and maybe that's as much as you can ask of a game. But I'd like to think it's not. I'd like to think we've made some progress over the past 12 years, that we could do better than recreating, with today's glorious technology, the rather elementary games I played as a kid. Mind you, I don't expect target-shooting games to vanish – I wouldn't even want the to. I'd feel better about it, though, if they weren't heralded as one of the hottest new development in computer gaming.
DOSAdventure Classic Gaming
Claimed to be over 2 years in the making, Cyberia is billed by Xatrix Interactive Design as “an arcade/adventure game that pushes interactive entertainment to the next level”. Whether or not this laudable claim is true is highly debatable. Considered to be more hype than substance, Cyberia is an easy game to criticize. While the cinematic cut scenes are certainly visually stunning, its poor story development and puzzle play surely prevents Cyberia from ever rising to the next level!
