Dark Mysteries: The Soul Keeper

Description

Dark Mysteries: The Soul Keeper is derived from H. P. Lovecraft's novel The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. The player accompanies Charles Dexter Ward in efforts to halt the murders plaguing Pawtuxet Island. To achieve that goal he must stop an evil spirit which is stealing people’s souls in an attempt to obtain immortality.

The game style is one of hidden object puzzle adventure with hidden object scenes aiding in key plot event sequences or yielding needed items to assist the player in story progression. Hidden object scenes are somewhat traditional with word objects at the bottom of the screen to be found in the scene above. Some scene objects must be opened and other items moved to finally reveal the object to be found. Objects requiring this move/open function are listed in a different color at the bottom of the screen.
