DescriptionDead Nation: Road of Devastation is DLC for Dead Nation. It does not add substantial content to the game, instead it reorganizes how the campaign mode is played. It is turned into a survival mode where the characters start at an underground facility with upgrade stations for the weapons. Leaving the facility provides three different doors that lead to three different paths that each branch into two ways: guns and support items, health and money, and armor and score. Only one upgrade per path is provided, so choosing a specific route determines the focus in approaching the game. Choosing the money path for instance provides money when defeating opponents to upgrade existing weapons, while the gun paths provides a new weapon unlock. The armor path provides different armor configuration while health has more health items when in trouble. The levels are organized as an endless amount of rounds and after each round the character returns to the facility. A single path cannot be taken twice in a row and enemies receive more health, strength and speed with each round. A patch released afterwards adds an arcade mode where progress can be saved between rounds, but in this mode progression is limited to round 6. The original survival mode is called "endless".
Additions to the game are an automated turret support item, a first aid kit that refills health entirely and a plant zombie as a new type of enemy. Loot distribution in cooperative games has also been altered. Now the loot is only given to the player who opens a box instead of providing it to both players.
