Deus

I get the idea that when the programmers got to the stage of adding detail to the embryonic Deus, they didn't stop until somebody prised their cold, dead fingers from their keyboards some months later. Deus is a game with rather a lot of detail.

Deus is a highly original arcade/adventure with some of the graphics in SVGA, a fully realized 3D environment and exciting combat; for some, it may not prove a satisfactory role playing game. Written on the game box is the following: Warning: This game is not easy. It requires strategy and intelligence. That it does, especially if the gamer wants to play doctor.

What is interesting, though, is the 'survival' element. Especially if you muck around with it for a laugh - during my first attempt, I tied a torniquet round each of my thighs, then injected disinfectant into my eyes, just to see what would happen (guess what? I died). Quite fascinating in many respects. This makes it fairly unique, if nothing else - but I wouldn't exactly recommend it as a casual purchase.

I recommend you first play Deus on Arcade mode as it is more easy till you get used to it. So download Deus and play this great (but hard) game. My rating = 3 (I would give it a 4 but it's quite a hard game.)

Deus macht einen zwiespältigen Eindruck: der Simulations-Modus ist einfach zu komplex, um "spielen" zu können. Man untersucht ständig seinen Körper und überlegt sich, was man im wirklichen Leben machen würde. Dem Spielziel kommt man dabei kaum näher. Der Action-Modus spielt sich wesentlich leichter, hier bietet Deus jedoch vergleichsweise wenig Action. Gute Ideen, die jedoch nicht im richtigen Verhältnis abgemischt wurden.
