Difficult levels can get hectic, but the gameplay is still relaxing and very entertaining. The number of levels and the unlockable features make Diner Dash 2: Restaurant Rescue well worth the $19.95. For fans of the original Diner Dash, there are new customer types, challenges, and restaurant features that will keep you exercising your strategic abilities. For first timers, it is easy to catch on and learn strategies, but beware, it may consume a whole afternoon of your day before you know it.

Ironically, the game's only real problem is from the occasionally excessive number of customers. There are just too many mouths to feed too soon, making some levels an exercise in frustration.. There were other minor issues with the title, including imprecise controls, but these were insignificant in the big scheme of things. The game's difficult isn't a deal breaker. On the contrary, you can see the challenge as setting Diner Dash 2 apart from other casual games. Rather than being a mind-numbing click-fest, this is a pulse-pounding quick jolt of excitement.

Otherwise, the gameplay remains unchanged, which is good news for those who enjoyed the original. The controls drag a bit, and other quibbles crop up, but nothing serious. In all, Diner Dash 2 is a terrific addition to anyone's library of casual games.

I highly recommend Diner Dash 2. This is an inexpensive game, but there is lots of fun to be had. The gameplay is repetitive, but it is also addicting. You will gain a newfound appreciation for waitstaff as you guide Flo through shift after shift. The game has appeal for a wide variety of age groups and it is just plain fun. This game is good fun, and it is worth a try, even for people who do not normally like video games.

I've always wondered what it would be like to work in a restaurant. Hurrying from place to place as the customers yelled about their lack of service. Diner Dash 2 doesn't completely satisfy my curiosity, but it does provide an entertaining simulation of the restaurant industry.
