While there is nothing inventive in Goin' Quackers, it is as well-done as any Sonic the Hedgehog or Crash Bandicoot game. The most memorable level is easily a homage to the famous Indiana Jones chased by the boulder scenario, only this time around Donald is running from a crazed truck driver, and if he is not nimble enough, well, it is pressed duck for dinner as Donald slides down your monitor screen. The graphics are beautiful and the voices live up to your cartoon memories. It is perfect entertainment for youngsters and younger players who have not yet been jaded by playing hundreds of similar games.

Donald Duck Goin' Quackers is quite the good adventure game, especially for youngsters. It got very imaginative gameplay that will keep children occupied for hours, but the replay value isn't what you would call Crash: Warped or Final Fantasy, instead it's more like Metal Gear Solid without a single cut-scene. Albeit, never the less Donald Duck's videogame is one amusing game to play, its got bright and cartoony graphics, with some Crash Bandicoot-esque gameplay mixed into a Disney package, this is probably the best Disney game to hit store shelves since Toy Story 2, way to go team Ubi Soft!

This slobbering aquatic bird is quite annoying, but this game is marvelous. Recycles many familiar elements from past platformers, but somehow manages to seem fresh and exciting.

I didn’t know Naughty Dog was working on a Donald Duck game! This ode to Crash Bandicoot is identical to the orange goof’s PlayStation adventures. Thus, it’s not bad.

Much to my surprise, Goin' Quackers on PS2 is not the same game presented on Nintendo 64 and PlayStation. The level design, level goals, and even the moves Donald has are different, yet at the same time, the game hasn't lost that Bandicoot-esque feel (or, to put it bluntly, steal) that makes it fun. Other than the inexcusably low animation framerate, there's really nothing to complain about in Goin' Quackers. The levels are varied, the challenge rises exponentially, and there are secrets aplenty to discover. There will certainly be better and more clever platformers released on PS2, but considering the software dry spell that most owners are going through right now, picking up this release might not be a bad plan.

Having reviewed the PlayStation version last issue, I didn't think a second round of Goin' Quackers would take up too much of my time. Turns out I was wrong. The levels are the same as its PS-X brethren, but look much nicer and play much smoother on N64. Even some of the problems I had with the PS-X version have been taken care of here. Donald has more animations and shouts more incomprehensible things during play. With these improvements stacked onto the (eventually) challenging levels, Goin' Quackers turns out to be a fun game. The kind of fun game you should pay full price for if you're over ten years old? Not quite, but maybe you can con your little brother into buying it. For the first time ever, I won't mind playing a game for a third time on another system (in this case, PlayStation 2) in the near future.

Donald Duck is the star of the game, and here, the star looks great. On the PlayStation 2, he is wonderfully animated, maybe better than in many of the classic cartoons he's appeared in. He exudes personality, wanders the screen in his trademark style, and just moves perfectly -- especially when he gets mad, flailing around and yelling in his trademark gibberish. But the rest of the cast looks great as well, and sounds great with distinct voices you'll recognize from cartoons past.

Taking Disney’s second fiddle and giving him a platform game all his own works out pretty well. The look of Goin’ Quackers is decidedly cartoonish and 3D, but the feel is much more linear – Donald is led down paths with very little option for deviation and a camera follows right behind. While the character animation is the game’s strong point, the camera will trick you into a falling death more often than not.

Although largely derivative of Crash Bandicoot, Goin' Quackers for PlayStation is a surprisingly entertaining game that packs quite a bit of challenge considering its target market. I would have scored it even higher had the developers been able to better capture the essence of Donald. For a game based on an animated character, there is a surprising lack of animation – and where are the voice-overs?

Goin' Quackers is exactly what it looks like: A colorful Disney platformer aimed at kids and the young at heart. Good family stuff, if a little too simplistic for more advanced and experienced players. Good for a rental if you're a Disney fan, but there's more than enough to do here to merit purchase for your kids, or for your three precious nephews.

Dann lieber Mega Drive!

I'm a huge, huge, fan of 2D side-scrolling games ever since the glory days of the great NES classics. Even today I still spend half of my gaming hours on such old-school titles because back then, gameplay was all they had. Sadly, the principle of clever gameplay fundamentals doesn't come home with Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers on the N64. Instead we find a charming yet overly simple attempt to return to these classic gaming roots, and this isn't going to be enough to keep seasoned players glued to their controllers. At the very best, this game will keep younger players and newcomers smiling for a few days as they lazily breeze through the game. Even if you're a hardcore Disney and 2D action fan, you might consider renting this one and finishing it off quickly before going in for the purchase. If all else fails, just run out and hunt down some classic SNES Disney titles by Capcom to see how a true 2D side-scroller should really be done.

When all is said and done Donald Duck: Goin’ Quackers will prove to be an entertaining diversion but at a life-span of 3 hours it is hardly worthy of a purchase. This is the perfect rental for the platform enthusiast.

While what is there is quite good, there's not enough of Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers to appeal to players who want a lengthy challenge. Many more experienced players will find they can cruise through the game in less than two hours. Those who enjoy Donald's journey the first time through can continue playing to find secrets, unlock new costumes, and complete time attack challenges and special move challenges, although most players will best be served with a rental. Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers is most definitely a kids' game, but there's enough going on in it that even older players could get a kick out of this simple yet attractive game.

Children will enjoy the lively adventures of Donald Duck, and some of those who enjoyed the DuckTales animated series will want to check out Goin' Quackers. Those who want a deeper, more satisfying platform adventure should probably save this for a weekend rental.

When Donald installs himself in front of the telly, he sees how Katrien (sorry, I’m using the Dutch names… If you are living in an other country, just ask a six year old boy or girl who Donald’s love is, he or she will know…) is bringing a life report in the secret temple of the evil Merlock. Just as she wanted to show the audience what the plans of that bad guy were, Merlock spotted her. And the television signal went dead… O my

All told, this game can serve purpose for Donald Duck fans, newcomers to gaming to get them into the concepts without it being too hard, and people looking for a quick relaxation break from harder stuff. The game is really short, though, so I'd say rent it if you have the option.

The DC version of this graphically intensive platform adventure is sometimes fun but gets very old very quickly. Children will enjoy the lively adventures of Donald Duck, and some of those who enjoyed the DuckTales animated series and are looking for a comical Disney romp will want to pick this up. Those who want a deeper, more satisfying platform adventure should probably stay away or save this for a weekend rental.

Goin' Quackers is clearly skewed toward the younger audience, and that's certainly not a bad thing for those with kids. GameCube could use a dedicated kid's title and Goin' Quackers is it. Unfortunately, it's a rehash of what we saw quite some time ago on the N64. It's a lack of effort, probably more tied to milking the Disney license than making a truly compelling game for kids. For this reason it's really disappointing. I recommend it to parents looking for something to let their kids play. Assuming you haven't already played the previous Goin' Quackers. Certainly this is the best Goin' Quackers yet, but the new additions aren't enough to warrant the pricey retail fee if you've played the original.

The game never truly gets challenging due to the fact that you’ll come up on extra lives so frequently. It’s easy to tell it’s geared to younger audiences that might have a problem getting through the games rather simplistic levels. There are some bonuses to unlock, but it’s probably not going to be worth it for older gamers, but younger gamers will find some extra gameplay to be had.

There are moments when GQ wants to break out and shake its tail feathers but the severe easiness does not allow it to stand on its own webbed feet. At the narrow end of the pond, GQ provides a pleasant but short platforming experience for any age group. Be sure to have the SNES and Genesis on standby.

Donald Duck: Going Qwackers! could be enough to keep the K-6 set sitting quietly in front of the TV for hours without complaints. So to this end, Donald Duck does meet a worthwhile goal-with plenty of humor and style.

After a moment's thought, it became obvious that this was pretty much the sum of Disney's latest formulaic mock 3D-platform game. Jumping, punching and collecting stars are all secondary to the occupation that takes up about 90 per cent of your time in this harmless and mildly amusing kid 'em up. If you're looking for a better example of the genre, we'd suggest taking a look at Cryo's Gift, which combines the familiar with a couple of original touches, but as platformers go, this certainly isn't a disgrace.
