A load of tropical fun suited best for a younger crowd-- but provides thrills for all ages. The levels are simple, but there is enough challenge to keep you interested, though older gamers may finish it too easily. The music is good and adds to the adventure.
WindowsReview Corner (Jul, 2002)
There is quite a bit of challenge found in the game, but motivation to master, or "beat", the game is high. Once each path has been completed, kids can return to it to try to beat their best time.
PlayStationPlaystation Illustrated (2002)
I think Lilo & Stitch are downright cool as characters, the movie was tons of fun and this game is really alright. It's not something that will go down against other games of its type as a trendsetting, top-of-the-line example of fine Platformer, Action/Adventure, or whatever your designation may be. What it will do is amuse the kids who liked the movie and illustrate the spirit of Lilo's appreciation for the fun and adventure her new 'dog' brings to her life and the whizz-bang action that seems to characterize Stitch's time on the planet. All the makings of a good game, and without any huge flaws in design or execution to make this a stinker, Disney and Blitz Games did themselves proud.

WindowsKidZone (Jul 03, 2002)
That said, Trouble in Paradise is still pretty fun and challenging, and captures the essence of the movie nicely. We enjoyed playing as Stitch more than Lilo, he seemed to have more personality and his levels were more fun, too. Because of the twitchiness of the game controls, dying is frequent, which makes this game a better choice for older kids, probably, because of possible frustration.

WindowsTechtite (2002)
Certainly not a bad game per se, though definitely a game for kids. Its mild game engine flaws were a bit tedious, though.
PlayStationAll Game Guide (2002)
This game is loaded with energy, and by providing the characters with plenty of lives and opportunities to earn extras, play can continue tirelessly. Periodically players may experience frustration near water hazards with Lilo since she can't swim. Frustratingly, unnecessary lives are spent when she inadvertently falls in while trying to execute an action too near the water, and then keeps reappearing at the water's edge. Aside from this minor drawback, completing the levels and defeating the enemies and level bosses make a great combination of challenge and fun. Kids of nearly all age levels will become quickly enthralled with the adventure.
WindowsAll Game Guide (2002)
This game is loaded with energy and, by providing the characters with plenty of lives and opportunities to earn extras, play can continue tirelessly. Periodically players may experience frustration resulting from the quirkiness of the control keys. Though manageable, it takes time to become acquainted with the controls, and many tries will be exhausted before progress is rapidly forthcoming. Even with this drawback, it's nonetheless an entertaining and well-done adventure that will take ages before reducing a child to boredom.

PlayStationIGN (Jun 19, 2002)
I'd love to be able to recommend this game to young girls who relate to a hero that's their same age and try a PlayStation game for the first time to relive the adventures of the film's spirited little keiki star, but Lilo just doesn't have the Big Kahuna on her side here. Older gamers may be able to handle the play control quirks, but they probably won't find much in this coconut to make them want to bother.
WindowsGameStar (Germany) (Aug, 2002)
PlayStationGameSpot (Jul 03, 2002)
While Lilo & Stitch was clearly designed as one for the kiddies, they likely will not be able to surmount its technical limitations for long enough to enjoy playing as either character. No one, regardless of his or her age, should even bother.
