THQ's Little Mermaid 2 is great for preschoolers and younger gamers as it offers no frustrating gameplay. I have a little sister who is 5 and she enjoyed the game quite a bit without having trouble playing it. For those who are older it offers little challenge and little replay value but the short trip is a fun experience.

Other than the gaps in the story and chunky FMV -- the stuff that should have been easiest to fix, and yet I guess the least important part of the game design -- there isn't much to worry about with the Little Mermaid II. It's a simple, silly game without anything great or horrible to say about the gameplay or presentation. It's not quite anything special, but if you're looking for a game for your daughter, or if you are a daughter and are looking for a game for yourself (be you 18 or 81), or even if you're interested in somebody else's daughter (be she 18 or 81), there's no shame in enjoying this game.

Interaction with characters such as Flounder, Sebastian, and Flotsam and Jetsam keep the enjoyment and familiarity real for fans of The Little Mermaid. Whether you're a land lover or you've got good sea legs, there's something for everyone in this adventure, and the two-player option in the bonus games is nice for company. Though most anyone could enjoy the game, for girls it's a cut above the usual, and is one of the better girl titles under de sea.
