Contemporary Ranger operations in a semiarcade mode. Yet it is fun and it works. Challenging to both adults and children; recommended for a diversion from the more serious simulations. It remains on the author's hard drive.
Airborne is a move away from the simulation side of MicroProse releases but is still a step above the normal Rambo/Commando style of shoot-'em-up. An effective combination which should attract those looking for a thought-provoking action game.
Graphics are merely average on EGA and work downwards through the standards; however, sound has been used reasonably well. The original C64 gameplay remains intact - although a touch slower - but scrolling is juddery and the gameplay is starting to show its age a little.
