Power Play
So lobenswert der Ansatz von "Balance of the Planet" auch ist, spielerisch dürften nur diplomierte Ökologen ihren Spaß haben. Chris Crawford hat es mit der Detailfülle schlicht übertrieben. Die düsteren Grafiken machen den Spieler depressiv (paßt allerdings zum Thema), und die Benutzerführung verschachtelt sich bis ins Unübersichtliche. Zwar sind die einzelnen Werte, Daten und Wechselwirkungen realistisch und vom wissenschaftlichen Standpunkt aus gesehen hieb- und stichfest; aber daß man ein solches Thema viel besser umsetzen kann, beweist das Umweltspiel "Ökolopoly".
