Trivia

The premise for this game is based on real world events. After 1945, Berlin was divided into two different sections of "West Berlin" controlled by French, British and American sectors and "East Berlin" by the Soviets.

On June 24, 1948 the Russians halted all surface (rail and road) transport to and from Berlin. In response, the allies organized the Berlin Airlift to bring in supplies and get people out by airplane. Also, contributing to a thriving black market for goods and long queues at shops. It was lifted nearly a year later in May, 1949.

It was during this time of the blockade that the game begins.

The original game comes with a double sided poster on one side depicts enlarged version of boxcover artwork and at the back a map of "East Berlin" outlining key locations like Hotel, Riechstag (used by Soviets as East German Parliament building) to local Zoo. Also audio cassette that can be used to synchronise with introduction animation sequence and in-game while visiting the cinema for the latest weekly news.
