|Developing Character Statistics||Contributed by Indra was here (18531) on Jun 14, 2008.|
Skills and other statistics increase automatically. Skills are obtained through continuous usage of the skill in mention. This is indicated by a “red-text” replacing the default “black-text” on the character skill sheet. All skills may be permanently or temporarily increase with training or story-based events from NPC’s (Non-Player Characters); from reading books (permanent); from magical items (permanent); and from potions (temporary).
The higher the skill or statistic, the harder it is to increase it.
Here’s how to increase those skills & statistics:
Health and Stamina: Not quite sure how this statistic increases but it does continuously.
Strength: May only be increased through Melee combat.
Defense: May only be increased through combat, when the opponent strikes at the hero. Continuously defending against an opponent may increase the chances of this skill to increase.
Acc. Melee: May only be increased through Melee combat.
Acc. Casting: May only be increased by using spells that specifically require spell accuracy (i.e. there’s a chance you can miss) during combat. Flamecast and Fetters of Rime are two example spells to practice on.
Assessment: Not really sure, as I’ve better things to do than assessing the enemy, however there are many practice sessions to increase this skill considerably.
Armorcraft: Extremely difficult to increase, through repairing armor.
Weaponcraft: Extremely difficult to increase, through repairing swords and crossbows.
Barding: May be increased through every failed and successful attempt in “barding” at taverns or inns. When doing so, the possibility of increase effect the entire party. Individual increases may be done through using a practice lute, purchasable at some pawn shops or obtainable through sub-quests.
Haggling: May be increased through every failed and successful attempt in haggling at shops, taverns or inns. This affects the entire party.
Lockpick: May only be increased through picking locks on chests and buildings or disarming traps. Chests or buildings that have been unlocked may be repeated to increase this skill. Unlocking fairy chests (the one’s with riddles) do not affect this skill.
Scouting: May not be increased manually.
Stealth: May only be increased through a successful ambush against enemies in 1st Person Perspective. This affects the entire party.
