The first version of CM2 was actually so bug-ridden that desperate cries for a patch to fix all of these programming errors were heard already right after its release. Hence an official patch was released in May 1996, patching the game to version 1.56, thus fixing most of the bugs. If you are to purchase CM2, make sure you get one of the more recent versions -- CM97/98 (a more comprehensive version of the game, released September 1997) and/or its successor CM3 would be the most logical choices.
