Gut, ich gebe es zu: als ich mir das Spiel das erste Mal angesehen hatte und mir minutenlang nicht sicher war, ob ich den gleichen Simulator nicht schon einmal getestet hatte, waren meine guten Vorsätze schon beim Teufel. Doch dann erinnerte ich mich, daß das erst kürzlich erschienene Navy Strike von MicroProse SVGA-Grafiken, drei verschiedene Einsatzgebiete und eine höhere Mitbestimmung bei der Planung von Missionen bot. Combat Air Patrol är som helhet en ganska misslyckad flygsimulator som man blir frustrerad av och snabbt tröttnar på. Det är synd att så fin grafik har skapats i onödan.

Die derart mangelhafte Realitätsnähe paßt zu den mickrigen spielerischen Inhalten mit Bruchpiloten-Niveau. So hat sich "Combat Air Patrol" das Prädikat "Tiefflieger des Monats" redlich verdient.
