Trivia
The SNES version of the game is unique in that it supports the Super Scope Light Gun. Having it plugged in activates a unique racing mode and changes the game considerably, as the player can shoot his way through traffic rather than avoiding it.

In 1994 Titus Interactive released an updated version of Crazy Cars III called Lamborghini American Challenge. The most important difference between the two version is that the training mode from Crazy Cars III has been replaced by a two-player tournament mode in Lamborghini American Challenge. The names of some of the A.I. drivers have also been changed. Furthermore the 1994 version runs fine on faster PC's without MoSlo or another slowdown utility (only pure DOS however). Finally, the red Lamborghini has been replaced by a yellow one.

On the player selection screen, there is a character's portrait that looks an awful lot like Mister T from The A-Team tv series. On some versions of the game, his name is given as Joe.
