CyClones

As first-person perspective games are taking a growing part of the computer game's market, many developers are trying to design new games that would appeal to the fans of Doom. S.S.I, after LucasArts and Apogee, has released such a game developed by Raven Software, the makers of Shadowcaster. The game, named "Cyclones", is available on both floppy and CD-ROM. The CD features full-motion video and cinematics that are not available on the disk version.

It has all the good things that make a first-person shooter tick. Moving while shooting in the heat of battle can be awkward at times. And that full-motion video--why? Cyclones shows that Doom-like games are here to stay, and they're not all cheesy rip-offs.

CyClones is a revolutionary and innovative game for the genre and if you like first-person shooters you're gonna have a good time. But like in most of all FPS's of that time, the mazes can get you tired after a while and the music doesn't help either. I'll give it a 4 points mark.

Da die BPjS nach und nach jedes 3D-Actionspiel, bei dem nur ein wenig zuviel Gewalt zu sehen ist, auf den Index setzt, sind die Alternativen für Fans dieses Genres rar geworden.

Cyclones innehåller en del nytänkande inom 3D-spelgenren, men slutresultatet är ett medelmåttigt spel som saknar många av de goda intentioner som fanns från början.
